Ameesha Patel is ‘not allowed to wear shorts or western clothes’ at Sanjay Dutt’s house: ‘I have to be in a salwar-kameez’

Ameesha Patel made her debut in the movies with Rakesh Roshan’s Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai where she co-starred with Hrithik Roshan. Recently, she completed 25 years in the movies and her debut film was re-released in the theatres. In a recent interview, Ameesha spoke about her relationships in the film industry and said that actor Sanjay Dutt is extremely “protective and possessive” of her. She shared that she isn’t allowed to wear shorts when she visits his house and is required to wear Indian clothes.

She shared with Bollywood Bubble, “He is very protective and possessive of me. When I go to his house, I’m not allowed to wear shorts or western clothes; I have to be in a salwar-kameez. Sanju is one person who always says, ‘You’re too innocent to be in this film industry. ‘Main teri shaadi karwaunga, main ladka dhundunga, main kanyadaan karunga‘ (I will get you married, I will find a boy, I will give you away (as the bride).”

She made this comment while looking at an old photo of the duo where Sanjay can be seen feeding her cake. “He’s very protective and adores me. He always looks out for my well-being and texts me asking if I am ok. He treats me like a kid. So, this was one of my birthdays, in Sanju’s house. And I am cutting the cake wearing a salwar-kameez. It was just a private party,” she said.

Ameesha has not been appearing regularly in films for the last few years. She was last seen in the 2023 film Gadar 2 with Sunny Deol. It was rumoured that Gadar 3 is in the pipeline but so far, the makers have not announced the film officially.
