All India Rank trailer: Varun Grover’s debut film promises to walk in the shoes of an aspiring IITian in Kota

All India Rank trailer: Vicky Kaushal shared the trailer of fellow engineer Varun Grover's debut. The film walks in the shoes of an aspiring IITian in Kota as he deals with extreme competition and burden of expectations.

Writer Varun Grover is all set to make his directorial debut with All India Rank. The trailer was unveiled today by Vicky Kaushal The film stars Bodhisattva Sharma, Samta Sudiksha, Shashi Bhushan, Geeta Agrawal, Sheeba Chaddha, Neeraj Ayush Pandey and Saadat Khan in pivotal roles. The film is presented by Sriram Raghavan. 

The trailer tells the story of a young boy Vivek, being pressurised by his parents to get into an IIT. It shows the challenges of leaving home, starting a new phase of life, and facing the intense competition among teenagers striving to become IITians. In addition to the dream of IIT admission, the pressure of securing a high ‘All India Rank’ adds to the teenager’s stress, fueled by constant parental expectations.

Vicky shared the trailer and wrote, “Hum dono engineers ka cinema ki duniya mein safar lagbhag saath hi shuru hua with… Masaan. “Saala yeh dukh kaahe khatam nahi hota bey!” A line written by him has over the years evolved to be one of the most noteworthy scenes of my filmography so far. I’m so happy and proud to be presenting the Trailer of ‘ALL INDIA RANK’… the Directorial Debut of my dear and incredibly talented friend #VarunGrover. Shine on mere bhai and my best wishes to the entire team.”

The upcoming film is produced by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil. Varun is known for his work as a writer in films like Masaan and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. All India Rank will release in theatres on February 23rd. 

Varun wrote on social media, “A part of our hearts, coming to you in theatres on 23rd February 2024. My first film as a director – can’t wait for the world to see.”
