Alaya F on Priyanka Chopra calling her ‘Bollywood’s next superstar’: ‘I thought my heart was going to explode’

Alaya F shared how she woke up to her mother’s message informing her about Priyanka Chopra’s comments and soon tried hard to find the interview. “I thought my heart was going to explode. It was also scary, but very overwhelming. It was just a magical moment for me,” she added.

For the unversed, during a recent interaction at South by Southwest 2023 (SXSW 2023), Priyanka Chopra was asked about the next superstar in Bollywood. While she first took Alia Bhatt’s name, she added how the Brahmastra actor is already a superstar. The actor then named Alaya F, adding that she stands out for her unique perspective. “I think Alia is, but she is a Bollywood superstar so I can’t say. I really like Alaya Furniturewala, she is Pooja Bedi’s daughter. And I told her when I met her that I think she is just cool and has a unique perspective. She is not trying to be like everyone else. I think we’ll find out in a few years,” Priyanka said.

Sharing the same video, Alaya F had then posted on Instagram, “I can’t even begin to describe how overwhelmed and grateful I’m feeling!! When your most most most favourite actor picks you when asked who they think deserves to be the next Bollywood superstar, there is LITERALLY no better feeling in the world!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you @priyankachopra Going to be smiling and dancing all day.”

Alaya F is now looking forward to the release of U-Turn which will drop on ZEE5 on April 28.
