Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s son, Aarav Kumar, turns 23 today, and his proud parents marked the occasion with emotional posts on social media. Akshay took to Instagram to share a candid picture with his son, along with a heartfelt caption.

He wrote: “Happy 23rd, Aarav! When I was twenty-three, I was learning to beat up people on screen… it’s a strange feeling now to see you beat me every day—whether it’s in tech, fashion, or arguments at the dinner table. Dekhte hi dekhte itna bada ho gaya hai yaar tu… You make me feel like a proud sidekick in my own story. Love you, beta. Cheers to the best 23 years of my life because they’ve been with you.”

The post quickly drew attention from Akshay’s colleagues and friends. Bhumi Pednekar dropped a heart emoji, while Vindu Dara Singh wrote, “Happy birthday darling, lots of love and light. Stay blessed and make us all proud always.” Actor Nimrat Kaur and producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s wife, Warda Khan, also extended warm wishes.

Twinkle Khanna, too, shared a picture with her son and a deeply reflective note. She wrote: “And he turns 23. Though I have an undeniable compulsion to hold on to him, it would be wise to remember that children are like the air stored in our lungs, in our custody for just a moment before the next exhalation. This may not be an entirely correct analogy because unlike breaths, we can’t keep popping babies in and out constantly, but you get the point, right? Here’s to the birthday boy. May he continue filling the world with his innate kindness.”

This isn’t the first time Twinkle has penned a moving tribute for Aarav. Last year, she shared how her son’s desire for independence initially filled her with dread, but later taught her a lesson in unconditional love. “When you finally left home, I thought my world would turn dark. But I didn’t realise then that someone who lives in your heart never truly leaves. My world lights up with every phone call, every message—even if it’s about dirty laundry.”

Aarav, who moved to London at the age of 15, has largely stayed away from the limelight. Known for his grounded personality, he reportedly holds a black belt in Kudo and Goju Ryu Karate. He is taking a course in fashion design in London.
