Akshay Kumar, who recently completed 38 years in the Hindi film industry, has experienced a rollercoaster journey filled with remarkable highs, dramatic lows, immense love, and equal amounts of hate. In a recent conversation with ABP News, the actor revealed how much he attributes his long-standing success to luck, acknowledging that many others may be more educated, better-looking, or more deserving than him. He also revealed his fitness mantra that keeps him fit at 57.

When asked if he ever finds time to check out films of his contemporaries despite his busy schedule, Akshay replied with humility: “Of course, kyunki aur koi kaam bhi toh nahi hai na, kyunki padhe likhe toh hai nahi. (Because we don’t really have any other work, right, since we’re not educated). And since I’m not that educated, I only do films. So, I get a lot of time.” Acknowledging the role of luck in his career, he further shared: “You need luck too. I believe this and often argue with people that I am 58 years old now, and my experience tells me that hard work is important but even more important is having luck. You need 70% luck and 30% hard work.”

He added: “There are times when I enter the studio and see a struggling actor standing and waiting for his opportunity. He looks better than me, is more talented than me, can dance better than me, his kicks and fights are better than mine, but unfortunately, he hasn’t gotten his chance. So, it all boils down to luck, you have to be at the right place at the right time.”

Till today, I eat jalebis, and barfis, whatever I want to eat, I eat.”

However, he also shared a strict rule he follows: “But one thing is that I never eat anything after 6:30 pm, before sunset. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been following this. However, sometimes it does happen that it’s a friend’s birthday or something, then you just taste the cake out of courtesy. Sometimes, I have to fool people as they give drinks and I do cheers with them but then throw it away because I don’t even enjoy it.”

Akshay Kumar was last seen in the film Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Arshad Warsi, which has earned Rs 93.25 crore according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
