Adipurush, the epic mythological film directed by Om Raut, is getting ready for its worldwide release on June 16, 2023. Ahead of the film’s highly-anticipated premiere, the makers have unveiled the second song from the movie, titled Ram Siya Ram. The captivating 170-second music video showcases Janaki (Kriti Sanon) anxiously awaiting the arrival of her beloved Raghav (Prabhas).
The song commences with Raghav and Janaki peacefully rowing on a bamboo boat, sharing a conversation about spending their exile together. The video then swiftly transitions to Raghav’s devastated expression as he grapples with the absence of Janaki by his side. The song also features a heartbroken Janaki waiting for her Raghav to come to rescue her. Towards the middle, the song also presents the joyous moments they shared together.
Janaki, meanwhile, says with utmost conviction to one of the characters: “I am Raghav’s, and I will forever be Raghav’s.” At the same time, Raghav embarks on a mission to rescue Janaki and bring her safely back home. The video also offers a sneak peek into the numerous endeavours undertaken by Raghav, aided by Lakshmana and Bajrang, as they strive to rescue Janaki.
Starring Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, and Devdatta Nage as Bajrang, the first song from the film, titled Jai Shri Ram, that the makers released a week ago had become an instantaneous hit and has already been watched by over 97 million users on YouTube.
Adipurush had courted controversy in October 2022 after the first teaser of the movie was heavily criticised on social media for the quality of visual effects as well as its depiction of Hindu deities.
It was also slammed for the apparent alleged Islamisation of Lankesh, as the demon king was seen sporting a beard and buzz cut. The row prompted the makers to push the release date of the movie from January to June 2023. Following this, the makers took their time and made a new trailer, released earlier this month, after fine-tuning the visuals.
