Prabhas-starrer Adipurush’s box office collections, which have been unimpressive for a few days now, dipped further on its 13th day of release. The film managed to collect Rs 1.5 crore (early estimates) across all languages in India, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes the film’s domestic nett collection to Rs 279.53 crore. The Hindi collections on day 13 stood at a measly Rs 97 lakh.

This is a big fall for a film that had a spectacular opening weekend, and seemed like a sure shot hit for Prabhas, who hasn’t had a big success at the movies since Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Both his follow-ups, Saaho and Radhe Shyam, were panned by the audience, and did not do well at the box office.

Adipurush, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon, has been controversial for its dialogues, written by Manoj Muntashir, and even though the producers revised some of the objectionable material in the film, the audience was quite unforgiving of their mistakes. The makers also reduced the ticket prices for a few of the weekdays but even that did not help the film’s collections pick up.

After almost a two-week uncontested run in the theatres, Adipurush will be competing against Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in lead roles. It seems unlikely that Adipurush will be able to stay in theatres for much longer, given its negligible box office collections and the growing competition.

Made at a reported budget of Rs 500 crore, Adipurush was hyped as the next big blockbuster of 2023. It is now the second-biggest grosser of the year, after the Shah Rukh Khan film Pathaan, followed by The Kerala Story and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. As per Bollywood Hungama, Pathaan’s lifetime nett domestic collection stands at Rs 543.05 crore. The Kerala Story and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar stand at Rs 242.20 crore and Rs 149.05 crore, respectively.
