Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapur’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor recently marked her big-screen debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, opposite Vikrant Massey. While the film received negative reviews, the actor’s performance is being praised by fans and critics. She signed her first film after her childhood best friends Ananya Panday and Suhana Khan made their silver screen debut with Student of the Year 2 and The Archies, respectively. In a recent interview, Shanaya opened up about her friendship with Ananya and Suhana, and explained why there is no competition between them.

During a candid conversation with India Today, she said, “Honestly, I have always said this, they are more than friends, they are family. So, competition and all are not even in our heads. We really support each other and are also always pushing each other. We have grown up together, so we have been talking and dreaming of this moment since we were kids. Now it’s finally happening for all of us in different phases and different stages of our paths.”

The actor added, “It’s a very exciting feeling. They are the first ones to always message me, call me, and show their support, and it’s the same when it comes to their work with me. I am always there for them, and we’re always pushing each other to be the best versions of ourselves.”

Earlier, during an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shanaya Kapoor spoke about the trio’s relationship and said, “It’s a sisterhood and yes, we are in the same filed, and we are chasing our dreams. We have grown up together hoping for these moments and it’s finally happening. Ananya has always been there for me for all my first steps. She has told me, ‘This is is how this works, this is how this doesn’t work’. And she has always guided me. So it’s sisterhood. We are so excited that we are all in this journey of fulfilling our dreams right now. What a beautiful feeling that we come back and we talk about it together. We are helping each other out. We are experiencing the ups and the downs together and I am very grateful that I have them and I can rely on them and call them whenever I need them for anything. I feel it’s very tough to find that sisterhood.”

Helmed by Santosh Singh, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has collected only over Rs 1 crore in three days of its run at the theatres.
