Abu Malik, composer Anu Malik’s brother and a show organiser–music composer, was a contestant on Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 13. Now, his nephew Amaal Malik, son of brother Daboo Malik, is a participant in the new season, Bigg Boss 19. In a recent interview, Abu opened up about Amaal’s gameplay and also spoke about his Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant Sidharth Shukla, who passed away suddenly in 2021. He clarified that no contestant should be compared to his “close friend”.

When asked if he was enjoying his nephew Amaal’s game in the latest season of Bigg Boss, Abu told Galatta India, “Recently, in the last 4-5 days, I have loved him. He was really outlandish and hitting out as much he could. He sobered down last week after Salman fired him. He has understood now and he is getting into his zone. I think Bigg Boss also wants somebody who is holding the home steadily. Him, Gaurav, they are just lying like that and handling the game.”

Talking about the other contestants in the house, he added, “Kunickaa is also very active inside. She is really hitting out all of them. She is going to have a long stay in the house. Awez is sensible, but Nagma is actually not doing anything, she is just quiet. I sometimes like Baseer, Amaal, Farhana, and even Tanya.”

The host pointed out that many contestants in the Bigg Boss 19 house have been invoking late actor and former contestant Sidharth Shukla’s name to define their personalities. “There’s no one like him. None of these guys can be Siddharth Shukla. He was a unique personality. He had answers for everything, had a beautiful love affair on the show, and how he handled it. He was a lion of a human being.”

The music composer added, “He was a very close friend of mine. He said just stick around with me, I get bored with these people. He went away very early. I felt very bad about it. When he came out, he got in touch with me and then we went out together immediately. All of them used to come here – Shehnaaz, him, everyone.”

Abu Malik also shared that he was deeply shocked by the demise of Sidharth Shukla and the recent passing of his Bigg Boss 13 co-contestant, 42-year-old Shefali Jariwala. “He was a very fine gentleman. His death shocked me, same with Shefali. I used to go to his house, it’s very sad. Comparing Siddharth to any of these people is weird. Bigg Boss 13 can’t be repeated. God wrote the script and he shot it. That script should be picked and turned into a family drama or something,” he concluded.
