Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan join hands for Kahaani spin-off Bob Biswas

The official Twitter handle of Red Chillies Entertainment revealed the news with a tweet that read, “Nomoshkar! Shah Rukh was quick to retweet the post with the text, “#BobBiswas is coming to ‘kill it!’ Happy to associate with Bound Script Production to bring #BobBiswas, played by @juniorbachchan and directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh. @RedChilliesEnt @gaurikhan @sujoy_g @_GauravVerma”

Gaurav Verma, Chief Operating Officer, Red Chillies Entertainment said in a statement, “Bob Biswas is easily amongst the most iconic movie characters in recent memory. With Abhishek taking on the portrayal of Bob and Diya helming the film as director, we are excited to give further shape to such an extraordinary character.”

Abhishek, who is already busy with his upcoming projects Breathe 2 and Anurag Basu’s next, also tweeted, “Excited to announce my next film!! Bob Biswas.” Can’t wait to get started. Working with many favourites.” He replied to SRK’s tweet, saying, “Hope I make you proud Shah! Thank you.”

After the big announcement, Sujoy Ghosh, Gaurav Verma, Riteish Deshmukh, Sophie Choudry and Milap Zaveri among others congratulated the team of Bob Biswas.

Abhishek Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have previously shared screen space in films like Happy New Year and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. This would be the first time Abhishek is acting in a movie bankrolled by SRK’s banner.
