‘You don’t make any money,’ Aayush Sharma recalls his father’s words when he declared his decision to marry Salman Khan’s sister Arpita

His father asked him, “Kaam tu kuch karta nahi hai, paise tu kama nai raha, upar se shaadi kar raha hai woh bhi aise ladki se jiske paas itna paisa hai. Uske kharche kaise uthayega?” (You don’t do any work, you’re not earning money, and on top of that, you’re getting married, and that too to a girl who has so much money. How will you manage her expenses) However, Aayush’ reply left his parents stunned. The actor replied, “Main nai uthaunga, aap uthaoge na?” (You will finance this right?)  His father reacted to his statement and asked, “Shaadi tune kiya, pyaar tune kiya, bill mai bharu?” (You will get married, you fell in love and I should pay the bill?)

Aayush added that while his father was pretty relaxed about this, his mother was worried.He recalled his mother asking if their families would get along as Aayush comes from a political family and Arpita comes from a film family. Aayush is the grandson of Pandit Sukh Ram of Mandi who was a veteran politician from Congress. After convincing his family, Aayush finally managed to introduce them to the Khans. He also recalled his mother’s reaction after seeing Salman. “Yeh to bohot good looking hai (He is so good looking),” his mother said after meeting Salman.

Aayush said that his family loved the Khans and their value system. When his father asked Arpita if she she would move to Mandi, if the situation arises, Salman replied, “Wherever Aayush decides to go, Arpita will follow him. You don’t worry about it.”

Arpita and Aayush got married in 2014. They are now parents of two kids – daughter Ayat and son Ahil Sharma. Aayush will next be seen in Ruslaan.
