Aamir Khan, who had been on an Oscar campaign for his film Laapataa Ladies until a few days ago, recently revealed that he quit drinking a while ago since he used to drink a lot previously. He said he still smokes a pipe. Aamir was in conversation with Nana Patekar and shared that his biggest struggle in his professional life is his indiscipline. He then elaborated that he is extremely disciplined when it comes to his films but in other departments, he would describe himself as an “extremist and indisciplined.”

When Nana heard Aamir calling himself indisciplined, he asked if the actor showed up for shoot on time and to this, Aamir said, “Yes. For that, I am always on time. So I am not indisciplined when it comes to my films but in my life, I am.” Aamir said that he is also “very lazy.” Nana then asked Aamir about his “bad habits” and the actor shared on Zee Music Company’s YouTube channel, “I smoke a pipe. Now I have quit drinking but at one point, I used to drink. And when I used to drink, I would drink all night. I could not stop.”

Aamir continued, “The problem is that I am an extremist man so I continue to do what I am already doing. It’s not a good thing and I realise that. I also know that I am doing the wrong thing but I can’t stop myself.” He reiterated that he does not face these problems when making a film as he is “sharply disciplined” then. And to this, Nana offered him a solution that he should continuously be working. “I have thought that I will do one film a year now because otherwise I do one film in three years,” Aamir said.

Aamir Khan will next be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par, which releases in 2025. He is producing a film called Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol, Ek Din, starring son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, and another film starring Vir Das, which is being written and directed by the comedian.
