Javed Akhtar recently celebrated his 80th birthday at his farmhouse in Mumbai. The veteran screenwriter-lyricist celebrated the occasion with family members and close friends. The birthday party was attended by actors Urmila Matondkar, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, and Shibani Dandekar, among others. Aamir and Farhan Akhtar even performed with Shankar Mahadevan at the party.

Photos and videos from the same have surfaced online. In one of the videos, Aamir, Farhan, and Shankar can be seen singing the Dil Chahta Hai title track. They trio was dressed in traditional outfits.

Urmila Matondkar, who was also part of the celebrations, took to her Instagram handle to share a set of photos with Javed Akhtar. In one of the pictures, she is seen gifting a bouquet to Akhtar. She also shared photos with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

Javed Akthar’s former wife Honey Irani was also part of the celebrations.

This is the same farm house where Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar tied the knot on February 19, 2022. Soon they will be celebrating their second wedding anniversary.
