Wipro launches centre of excellence on generative AI at IIT Delhi

IT major Wipro has announced the launch of a centre of excellence on generative artificial intelligence in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi).

This centre has been set up on the premises of the Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence at IIT Delhi, and this Centre Of Excellence (CoE) will support applied research in generative AI, according to a statement.

The aim of this centre is to encourage and better the research and development capabilities in several emerging areas such as generative AI and then connect the candidates with a talent pool, claimed Wipro’s Chief Technology Officer Subha Tatavarti.

Wipro CoE teams will jointly work on building innovative solutions using AI, Machine Learning (ML), and other technologies, the company said.

Experts believe that through this centre of excellence the students can gain insight into industry-centric problem, also understand the know-how about it and concentrate on solution too.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Wipro to create new learning and growth opportunities for our students. Through the creation of this Center of Excellence, our students will gain valuable insight into problems of relevance to industry and will learn first-hand how their technical know-how transfers to commercial environments. Ultimately, our partnership with Wipro will be a win-win for everyone, and significantly contribute to India’s advancement in these critical new technology fields,” said Professor Mausam, Head of the Yardi School of AI at IIT Delhi.
