UPSC CSE Final Result 2024 LIVE Updates: ‘Used ChatGPT for Mains Essay,’ says Bihar’s AIR 8 Raj Krishna Jha

Bihar’s Raj Krishna Jha adopted an unconventional approach to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE). Instead of relying solely on traditional methods, he integrated artificial intelligence into his study routine. The 27-year-old said he took the help of ChatGPT to enhance his essay-writing skills for the Mains examination.

Sharing his experience with indianexpress.com, Jha explained, “I wrote essays for Mains as it is one of the deciders of the exam. I used to take a quote and write whatever came to my mind to support it, and then ask AI to review it. I took help from it for some 40-50 essays. After some time, it became my hobby to chat with AI for my essay preparation.”

By combining AI tools with his preparation, Jha was able to refine his writing and gain new perspectives, ultimately contributing to his success in the examination.

UPSC CSE Final Result 2024 LIVE Updates: Meet AIR 1 Shakti Dubey.

Originally hailing from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Dubey began her UPSC journey in 2018. A biochemistry graduate from Banaras Hindu University, she initially aspired to become a doctor. “I was a PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) student in school, but based on my rank, I was allotted a seat in dental. I wasn’t interested in that path, so I chose to pursue a BSc instead,” she recalls.

Her path, however, was far from smooth. She faced five unsuccessful attempts along the way. “I couldn’t even clear the prelims in my first three tries. In the fourth attempt, I made it to the interview stage but fell short. And last year, I missed the cut-off by just 12 marks,” she shares. “That was the lowest point in my life—I genuinely thought about quitting.”
