UGC NET Result 2023 (OUT) Updates: NTA releases scorecards at ugcnet.nta.ac.in

The UGC NET 2023 result can be accessed by using the registration number and date of birth and case-sensitive pin number.

The National Testing Agency conducted UGC-NET in December 2023 in 83 subjects in 292 cities. Nearly 9.45 candidates appeared for the exam held between December 6, 2023 and December 19, 2023. The UGC today morning announced that the result got delayed due to the technical reasons, however it will be released soon.

The UGC NET December exam result is expected to be released by tonight. Follow these steps to check result

The UGC NET December 2023 scorecard link will be activated soon at ugcnet.nta.ac.in website. The candidates will have to key in their application numbers and date of birth to access and download the NTA UGC NET 2023 December result scorecard.

Yes, the cut-off in UGC NET December 2023 exam will be lower in the case of reserved category candidates. The subject-wise qualifying cut-offs for the candidates belonging to the third gender category will be the lowest among those for SC, ST, PwD and OBC–NCL and General-EWS categories in the corresponding subject.

For multi-shift papers, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different shifts/sessions will be converted to NTA Score (percentile).

In case a subject test is conducted in multi-shifts, NTA score will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate.

The calculated NTA score for the raw marks for all the shifts/sessions will be merged for further processing for deciding the allocation.

In the events of the percentiles for the multi-shifts being dissimilar / unequal, the lowest will be the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates (i.e. all shifts).

If a candidates forgets the UGC NET 2023 application number, one can retrieve it from the UGC NET portal. On the log in screen of the portal, ugcnet.nta.ac.in, applicants can click the “forgot application number” button and follow the procedure given there. They will get their UGC NET application form number 2023.

For multi-shift papers, raw marks obtained by the candidates in UGC NET December 2023 exam in different shifts and sessions will be converted to NTA score and percentile.

If a question is found to be incorrect and the question is dropped, then two marks will be awarded to only to those candidates who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error.

If a question is found to be incorrect or ambiguous and has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit in UGC NET 2023 exam result.

Candidates who appeared for the UGC NET 2023 exam and have put some questions in the marked for review section will not get any marks even if they have answered them correctly.

"No marks will be given for questions un-answered/un-attempted/marked for Review," NTA information brochure on ugcnet.nta.ac.in said.

As many as 9,45,918 candidates await UGC NET 2023 result. The UGC NET December exam was held from December 6 to 14. 

The result was earlier scheduled to be declared on January 10, but was postponed to January 17 for unknown reasons. It was then postponed further due to technical issues.

Once released, candidates will be able to access and download the UGC NET 2023 December result at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The result will be compiled based on the final answer key declared. No grievance with regard to answer key(s) after the declaration of result/NTA Score of UGC NET December 2023 will be entertained, UGC said in an official notice.

The normalisation process will be conducted this way:
a) For multi-shift papers, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different shifts/sessions will be converted to NTA Score (percentile).
b) The detailed procedure on NTA Score being adopted is available on NTA website under Normalization procedure based on Percentile Score.
c) In case a subject test is conducted in multi-shifts, NTA Score will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by a candidate. The calculated NTA Score for the Raw Marks for all the shifts/sessions will be merged for further processing for deciding the allocation.
d) In the events of the percentiles for the multi-shifts being dissimilar / unequal, the lowest will be the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates (i.e. all shifts). For Example: In the examination held in two shifts, if the 40% marks correspond to a Percentile score of 78 in Shift 1 and 79 in Shift 2, then all those equal to or above 78 percentiles (Percentile score of 100 to 78) in both shifts will become eligible in General Category. Similar method will be adopted for the other categories to determine eligibility cut-offs. In case the examination is held in a greater number of shifts the same principle shall apply.

"The results are ready but have been delayed due to a technical issue. NTA is trying to upload them as soon as possible," NTA official told indianexpress.com.

The record of UGC NET December 2023 will be preserved upto 90 days from the date of declaration of result. 

If a question in UGC NET December 2023 is found to be incorrect, ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit. 

According to the UGC NET December 2023 marking scheme, each question carried two marks and no negative marks would be cut for incorrect responses. Questions unanswered, un-attempted, or marked for review would also not fetch any marks.

Application number, date of birth and security pin will be needed to check the UGC NET Result December 2023.

NTA had released the provisional UGC NET December 2023 answer keys. Candidates were also allowed to raise objections against the answer key by January 5. The UGC NET 2023 December exam final answer key has not been released yet.
