UGC NET June 2025: Results out a day before scheduled date, July 22

To qualify for the UGC NET exam, candidates belonging to the general category must secure a minimum of 40 per cent marks. For candidates from OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and transgender categories, the required passing marks are 35 per cent. The exam serves to assess eligibility for assistant professor positions, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and admissions to PhD programme.

Meanwhile, Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) met National Testing Agency (NTA) officials on Thursday and urged that UGC-NET June 2025 results to be announced immediately. The union pointed out that the delay was causing uncertainty for thousands of candidates, especially those aspiring admission to PhD programmes, including at JNU, where the admission process is already underway.

The NTA has today issued the date to release the results, which is July 22; however, the time is not mentioned on the post of the Agency. The UGC NET is held twice a year, in June and December, for the appointment of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professorship, and admissions to PhD programmes. Here is how students can check the scorecards of the UGC NET June session.

Visit the official website of UGC NET at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Click on the ‘UGC NET June 2025 Scorecard’ link on the homepage. Enter your login credentials, such as application number and password, for login. View your result on the screen. Download and print the scorecard for future reference. 

There will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of the UGC NET result. The UGC NET June 2025 result will be compiled on the basis of the final answer key released. The record of UGC NET 2025 will be preserved for up to 90 days from the date of declaration of the NET result.

In the last session, for Assistant Professorship, as many as 48,161 candidates qualified for Assistant Professorship, and admissions to PhD and 1,14,445 candidates qualified for PhD only. Of the 8,49,166 candidates registered for the exam, as many as 6,49,490 candidates appeared. While only 5,158 candidates qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in December 2204 session.
