Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, has announced merit-based scholarships for Indian students applying for postgraduate programmes beginning in January 2026. According to an official statement, the scholarships will cover up to 50% of tuition fees for eligible candidates. The awards include the India Prestigious University Award of up to £4,000, the NTU International Merit Scholarship worth £3,000, and the NTU International Scholarship of £2,000. Applicants must have received an offer to study at NTU for the January 2026 intake to be considered for these awards. The deadline for scholarship applications is November 12, 2025 (1600 GMT). Last year, NTU awarded over 1,300 scholarships to students from more than 80 countries. Eligibility for the 'India Prestigious University Award' Students who have completed their undergraduate studies at one of the following universities are eligible for the India Prestigious University Award - Delhi University, Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Madras (Chennai) University, Kolkata (Calcutta) University, or Bangalore University. To qualify, candidates are required to meet these academic requirements: -Students with First Class results — 70% or above, 7.0/10 CGPA, or 6.0/7 CGPA — will receive a £4,000 award. -Students with Second Class (2:1) results — 55% or above, 5.5/10 CGPA, or 4.5/7 CGPA — will receive a £3,000 award. To apply, fill out the university application form and tick the box indicating that you wish to be considered for the India Prestigious University Award. You can also complete the full scholarship application if you want to be assessed for awards covering up to 50% of your tuition fees. Employability-focused academic model According to NTU, the university is ranked first in the UK for employability (Uni Compare, 2025) and maintains collaborations with over 2,000 companies in the UK and abroad. Each undergraduate degree at NTU includes a minimum of 240 hours of integrated work-like experience, ensuring students gain practical exposure alongside their academic curriculum. NTU also operates an Employability Promise, which guarantees paid placements for graduates who are not employed or pursuing further studies within a year of completing their degree. In an official statement, NTU said the scholarships aim to support students in gaining both academic qualifications and career-ready skills through a combination of classroom learning, internships, and project-based experience. Academic programmes for January 2026 Students enrolling in January 2026 can choose from programmes across Business, Technology, Art and Design, Architecture, and Social Sciences. These programmes include professional placements and international collaborations with partner universities, offering exposure to global practices. To assist with applications, NTU has authorised education counsellors in India who can guide students through the scholarship process and programme selection.
