One of the most crucial admission tests for applicants hoping to get into Indian engineering institutes is JEE Main. Every year, there are two exam sessions: one in January and one in April. A lot of students are unsure about whether to show up for both sessions or just one.

Giving students additional opportunities to raise their marks is the primary motivation behind holding two JEE Main exams. You can try again in the second session if you don’t do well in the first. Students are under less pressure as a result, and errors can be corrected.

Benefits of showing up for both sessions

1. Another opportunity to raise your score: Attending the second session can help you achieve an even higher rank, even if you did well in the first. Gaining admission to prestigious engineering universities such as NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is facilitated by a better score.

2. More experience: Attending both sessions will help you prepare for the test more effectively. Practice is what the first session is for, and you can improve for the second one by discussing your mistakes. Your confidence may also increase as a result.

3. Flexibility: The best score from both sessions is chosen by JEE Main, but there is flexibility in this process. Only the score from the second session will be taken into account if your performance increases. The first session’s higher score will be used if not. For the pupils, this flexibility is useful.

You can skip the second session if you consider that your performance in the first session was sufficient for your chosen college and you are entirely satisfied with it. However, keep in mind that the competition is fierce and even a small gain in your score might have a significant impact.

It is always a good idea to attend both JEE Main sessions since it gives you more chances to raise your score, boost your confidence, and ease the strain. Giving the second session a shot can provide you extra opportunities even if you perform well in the first one. On the other hand, you won’t need to worry about the second try if you are happy with how you performed in the first session and can concentrate on your other preparations.
