The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has introduced two new courses on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) for the market intermediaries. The course is introduced to create a minimum knowledge benchmark for employees and their associated persons about concepts of AML and CFT and related aspects, provisions of the PMLA & PML rules, and scheduled offences under the Sebi Act and the Companies Act, Sebi said in a statement. The courses are introduced to promote knowledge about the guidelines about AML standards, CFT and proliferation financing among the market intermediaries, read the statement by SEBI. To enhance the capital market, the SEBI has been organizing outreach programs focused on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) provisions, aimed at benefiting securities market intermediaries. Additionally, the SEBI is engaged in various initiatives to raise awareness about these provisions among participants in the securities market. As part of this effort, the course titled "AML and CFT Provisions in Securities Market Certification Examination" has been developed by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai along with edtech platform TalentSprint has introduced a cutting-edge PG diploma in Financial Economics and Management. This programme provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of essential concepts, including accounting, investment and risk management, macroeconomic trends, managerial and analytical frameworks, behavioural finance, and financial regulations. This 45-credit programme is designed for both freshers and working professionals and is offered in collaboration with National Stock Exchange (NSE) as the knowledge partner, as per a statement by the institute. The program offers a blend of online flexibility and immersive on-campus experience at the IIM Mumbai campus. The participants will be exposed to real-world case studies, projects and immersive learning sessions led by world-class faculty. Upon successful completion, graduates will earn a IIM Mumbai PG diploma, gain alumni status and access to a network of industry professionals and peers, says IIM-M. IIM Mumbai was earlier known as National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering (NITIE). It was established in the year 1963. IIM Mumbai has secured sixth rank in the NIRF 2024, released by the Ministry of Education every year.
