PSEB Punjab Board 10th Result 2024 Released: The Punjab School Examination Board (PSEB) on April 18 declared the class 10 result. Students can now also check the scores at the official website — pseb.ac.in and via SMS. To check the result via SMS, students will have to type PB10 <roll number> and send to 5676750.
The Board recorded a pass percentage of 97.24 per cent, which is a slight decrease from last year’s 97.54 per cent. Like last year, girls outperformed boys by scoring a pass percentage of 98.11 per cent while boys achieved a percentage of 96.47 per cent. A total of 394 students failed the class 10 exam, which is 0.14 per cent of the total students.
Aditi from Ludhiana is the PSEB class 10 topper scoring 100 per cent. Alisha Sharma of Ludhiana and Karmanpreet Kaur of Amritsar stood second in the state with 99.23 per cent marks.
In 2023, a total of 2,81,327 students appeared for Punjab Board class 10 exams 2023 of which 2,74,378 passed, r ecording an overall pass percentage of 97.54 per cent per cent.
Among all the districts, Amritsar has the highest 99.24 per cent pass percentage while Fatehgarh Sahib has the lowest 94.51 per cent.
Last year, girls outshone boys by securing a pass percentage 98.46 per cent. Boys secured 96.73 per cent pass percentage. In 2023, the overall pass percentage was two per cent lower than 2022. As many as 653 students had failed to clear the examination and 6,171 had to re-appear. However, the pass percentage had improved from the pre-pandemic years as the pass percentage was 85.56 per cent in 2019.
Interestingly, all districts in the state last year had recorded pass percentage of 95 per cent or above, with Barnala scoring the lowest at 95.96 per cent.
