NIRF 2023 Best Pharmacy Colleges: National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hyderabad, has cast off the rest of the colleges by ranking at the top in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 pharmacy category. The college scored 78.86 points this year, a dip from last year’s 79.46 points scored in 2022. The institute was sixth in 2021.
NIRF 2023 rankings were released on June 5 (Monday) by the Ministry of Education.
Jamia Hamdard dropped from the first spot to second this year with a score of 78.74. For the last two consecutive years, Jamia Hamdard was at the top spot.
The third position was secured by Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. This year, the college scored 76.67 points, which is an increase from 74.99 points (fifth spot) in 2022 and 75.57 in 2021.
The fourth position has been bagged by the JSS College of Pharmacy from Ooty, Tamil Nadu. This year, college scored 76.55 points, while last year it ranked 8th with the score of 71.21. In 2021, it was at the 9th spot with the score of 65.18.
Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, came fifth with the score of 75.42. Last year, it ranked seventh with a score of 72.25.
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali came sixth and secured 73.58 points. The seventh position has been secured by JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore with a score of 77.27, the college’s rank improved by one spot.
Noting a drastic decline, Panjab University secured the eighth spot, down from the third spot last year. It scored 72.34 points this year. Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal retained its ninth rank with a score of 69.33 points. Entering the top 10 this time is Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham with 68.91 points (10th spot), while National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ahmedabad which was at the 10th spot for 2022 and 2021 saw a setback and secured the 13th rank.
