Maharashtra board Class 10th, 12th results trends from the past 5 years

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will likely announce the results in June. The board which started the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Class 10 exams from March 1 to 26 and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Class 12 exams from February 21 to March 19.

Last year, the Class 10 results were declared on May 25 at 11 am while the Class 12 exam result link was made active at 2 pm. The result dates this time will be announced by the state board on the official website – mahahsscboard.in – the board said on May 12. The Board also requested students not to trust rumours related to the Maharashtra board result 2024 date and time.

This year, after a confusion over a question on naming the atom having the smallest size – Helium or Hydrogen, asked in Science 1 paper of Class 10 examination, the Maharashtra board has declared that both answers will be considered correct and students who have marked any one of the options will be provided with full marks.

Class 10 Maharashtra board results in the previous years

Last year, as many as 15,29,096 students appeared for the SSC exams across the state out of which 14,34,898 qualified. As many as 5,26,210 students got a first class, 3,34,015 received a second division and 85,298 students got pass class.

The overall pass percentage saw a dip last year. While the pass percentage recorded in 2023 was 93.83 per cent, it was 96.94 per cent in 2022. In 2021, however it was 99.95 per cent which was substantially higher because of the cancellation of exams and results announced as per alternative assessment criteria. In 2020, it was 95.30 per cent.

Class 12 Maharashtra board result analysis

Last year, pass percentage in Class 12 Maharashtra board exam was 91.25 per cent. This was a drop from 94.22 per cent in 2022. 

In 2023, a total of 14,16,371 students appeared for Maharashtra Class 12 exams out of which 12,92,468 students passed. Last year, science stream students recorded a pass percentage of 96.09 per cent, while in commerce, the pass percentage was 90.42 per cent and in arts, it was 84.05 per cent. In 2022, the stream-wise pass percentage was science: 98.30 per cent; arts: 90.51 per cent; and commerce: 91.71 per cent. In 2021, the board recorded 99.95 pass per cent.
