The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), through its Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), has rolled out the Winter Internship Programme 2025, aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in cybersecurity and digital forensics. The application deadline for the Winter Internship Programme 2025 is October 17, 2025.

Candidates must ensure that all required documents are uploaded at the time of application, as these will be carefully reviewed during the selection process. Shortlisting will be based on the complete and verified documentation submitted by each applicant.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to cybercrime investigation, digital forensics, and national security operations, allowing participants to work alongside seasoned experts and contribute meaningfully to public safety.

What is the eligibility?

Candidates pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, or PhD programs in a wide range of disciplines are eligible to apply for the 14C Winter Internship Programme.

These include fields such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Communication Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Security, Cyber Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics.

Students from legal backgrounds like LLB or LLM, as well as those studying Criminology or Sociology, are also encouraged to apply. The programme welcomes applicants from any area related to cyberspace, technology, or cybercrime, including Blockchain Technology, dark web expertise, ethical hacking certification, API or software development, automation, malware analysis and reverse engineering, and content creation. Additionally, those pursuing BA or MA in Journalism, Mass Communication, New Media, or Digital Journalism; diploma or degree holders in digital media, content writing, graphic design, or video editing; and students of MA or diploma in Events or PR Studies, as well as BBA or MBA with a focus on Data Analytics, are eligible to participate.

To apply for the Winter Internship Programme 2025:

Step 1: Go to the official website: i4c.mha.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the “What’s New” section.

Step 3: Download the Internship SOP, which includes the application form and undertaking.

Step 4: Fill out the form and upload all required documents.

Step 5: Submit your application through the Google Form link provided in the SOP.

Shortlisted candidates will be notified by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) within four to five weeks after the application deadline. The internship is unpaid, and no accommodation will be provided by I4C or the respective state and UT police departments.

However, upon successful completion of the programme, candidates will receive an official certificate from I4C recognising their contribution and experience.
