KTET 2024 registration deadline extended till May 2; how to apply

KTET 2024: Pareeksha Bhavan Kerala on Friday (April 26) extended the online registration date for Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) till May 2. Interested and eligible candidates can apply at the official website — ktet.kerala.gov.in.

The application correction facility will be available from May 4 to May 7 and registered candidates can download hall tickets from June 3. The KTET 2024 April exam is scheduled on June 22 and 23.

KTET 2024: How to apply

Step 1: Go to the official website — ktet.kerala.gov.in

Step 2: Scroll down and click on the link reading new registration for April 2024

Step 3: Click on the tab for new registration, and select the category you want to apply for and enter your details such as name, date of birth, etc.

Step 4: Upload the necessary documents. Then, cross check the details, save and submit.

Step 5: Download the application form for future reference

General, OBC, EWS category students are required to pay a fee of Rs 500 while SC, ST, PWD candidates will need to pay Rs 250 need to be paid as application fees to complete the registration.

KTET is conducted for categories 1, 2, 3 and 4. Category 1 covers classes 1 to 5, classes 6 to 8 are covered by category 2, category 3 covers classes 8 to 10 and category 4 is for language teachers — Arabic, Urdu, Sanskrit, Hindi (up to upper primary level). Specialist teachers and physical education teachers are also covered by category 4.

The exam will be held in pen and paper mode. The duration of the exam is 150 minutes for 150 marks. Candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers. Each paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions based on the category.
