According to KEA, several new measures were introduced this year to ensure greater transparency and fairness in the examination process:

• Facial recognition technology was implemented for candidate verification at exam centers using a mobile app developed by the KEA IT team.

• CCTV surveillance and live webcasting were conducted across all exam centers, with real-time monitoring at district-level control rooms.

• Security protocols included the deployment of one home guard per 100 candidates, with frisking carried out under police supervision.

• OMR Sheets Access: Over 11.67 lakh OMR answer sheets were uploaded on the KEA website post-examination, allowing public access for verification—an initiative reflecting the commitment to transparency.

“Police have charge sheeted the accused involved in seat blocking scam. We will review the charge sheet and check if all the people responsible for the seat blocking scam are part of the charge sheet and inquiry. Based on a detailed examination of the charge sheet, we will take further legal course of action,” the KEA said.

The CET rank list was compiled using the best scores from the first two examinations of the Second PUC, conducted by the Karnataka School Examination and Evaluation Board. Additionally, Second PUC marks for CBSE and ICSE students studying in Karnataka were retrieved directly online and included in the ranking process.

To access their results, candidates will need to log in using their registration number and the first four characters of their name. The KCET 2025 scorecard displays subject-wise marks, total score, and the candidate’s rank.

Suchivrat Kulkarni who missed the examination due to janivara (sacred thread) controversy secured a rank of 2.06 lakh. His score was calculated based on his CET physics marks and an average of PUC marks.

Kulkarni was barred from the mathematics paper after he refused to remove his janivara at the CET exam centre at Sai Spoorthi College in Bidar on April 17.

Harishraj D V of Narayana e-Techno School – Yelhanka ranked first in Nursing and Veterinary, scoring 179 marks in both. He also topped the BNYS exam scoring 99.39. In agriculture, he ranked sixth with 97.29 marks.

Engineering topper of KCET 2025 is Bhavesh Jayanthi who scored an impressive 99.06 marks. He is a student of Sri Chaitanya School.

Akshay M Hegde from Alva’s PU College, Vidyagiri, topped the agriculture exam with a score of 98.08 marks.

• Increased from 5 to 10 phone lines

• Operating hours extended from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, 7 days a week

• Adequate staff have been assigned to manage support efficiently

Last year, a total of 2,74,595 students became eligible for Engineering (1,25,830 boys, 1,48,765 girls), 2,15,965 for BSc Agriculture (88,931 boys, 1,27,034 girls), 219887 (89,891 boys, 1,29,996 girls) for BVSc, 2,19,483 students for BNYS (89,703 boys, 1,29,780 girls), 2,78,919 students for BPharma (1,27,014 boys, 1,51,905 girls), 2,79,313 for PharmaD (1,27,292 boys, 1,52,021 girls), and a total of 2,28,058 (92,194 boys, 1,35,864 girls) for BSc Nursing.

Last year, a total of 3,49,653 students applied for the exam, of which 1,54,869 were male and 1,94,784 were female candidates. Of them, 3,10,314 students appeared (1,39,274 make and 1,71,040 female candidates). Forest and Ecology Minister Eshwar Khandre Sunday announced a seat for the student who had to skip the maths test of Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for refusing to remove the sacred thread worn by male members of the Brahmin community.

The student Suchivrath Kulkarni will be offered the seat in an engineering course at Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology, Bhalki, run by Shanti Vardhak Education Society of which Khandre is the Chairman. Khandre and his Cabinet colleague Rahim Khan also visited Kulkarni’s residence Sunday morning.

After the KCET 2025 exam this year, the Shivamogga police had booked unnamed CET officials for allegedly forcing candidates to remove their janivara (a sacred thread) during the Common Entrance Test (CET) for professional courses held at Adichunchanagiri PU College in the district.

Based on a complaint by Nataraj Bhagavath, a CET candidate, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(1) (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Doddapete police station.

A facial recognition QR code system was also in place this year. The QR code was printed on the hall ticket. When scanned, it showed the photo and full details of the candidates. According to KEA, the objective was to eliminate any possibility of impersonation, facial recognition technology and QR code verification were used to authenticate each candidate’s identity.

For the first time webcasting and CCTV surveillance was used in all exam centers. Every candidate was monitored live. The entire examination process was monitored through CCTV surveillance, mirroring the protocols followed in major recruitment exams, the Board director said before the start of the exams.

Security was further strengthened with the deployment of police and Home Guard personnel at each KCET exam centre. They carried out thorough security checks before allowing candidates to enter the exam halls.
