JEE Mains Result 2025 LIVE Updates: Result out, check cut-off

NTA has declared the JEE Main session 2 paper 1 result. The direct link to check and download the JEE Main scorecard is available at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

NTA had released a JEE Main final answer key 2025 on April 17. In the JEE Main 2025 April exam final answer key for paper 1 released last evening, two questions have been dropped. The first appeared in the April 3 first shift (domestic set), and the second dropped question is from April 2 first shift (international set). However, JEE answer key was in the late last night removed from the official website.

NTA has now uploaded a fresh JEE Main final answer key with the same questions dropped.

There were 14 toppers in JEE Main 2025 session 1. They are:

NTA had released a JEE Main final answer key 2025 on April 17. In the JEE Main 2025 April exam final answer key for paper 1 released last evening, two questions have been dropped. The first appeared in the April 3 first shift (domestic set), and the second dropped question is from April 2 first shift (international set). However, JEE answer key has been removed from the official website and will be uploaded today at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The JEE Main 2025 answer key link will be available at jeemain.nta.nic.in. This will be the final answer key. Candidates can expect a few questions to be dropped as well. The JEE Main 2025 April session provisional answer key was released on April 11.

The JEE Main 2025 final answer key is releasing at 2 pm. The official website link - jeemain.nta.nic.in will make the JEE Main 2025 answer key link available.

The JEE Main 2025 score is determined by only the JEE Main final answer key.

Each subject in JEE Main 2025 had two sections. Section A had Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B contained questions whose answers were to be filled in as a numerical value. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers in Section A and Section B. For each question in Section B, a candidate had to enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on- screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. For Section B, the answer was to be rounded off to the nearest integer.

Conversion of the raw score in mathematics, physics and chemistry and total into NTA scores. The overall JEE Main merit will be prepared by merging NTA scores of all shifts of all days.

Four marks are given for each correct answer, and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer marked. For those questions unanswered and marked for review, no marks are provided.

As per JEE Main 2025 marking scheme, if more than one option is found to be correct then four marks will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options and for questions where all options are found to be correct then four marks will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then full marks will be awarded to all candidates who have appeared irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Besides clearing the JEE Main cut-off, students also have to qualify the eligibility in their Class 12 board examination, which usually is 75 per cent aggregate for General and OBC and 65 per cent for SC, ST and PwD categories.

The CCPA, headed by Consumer Affairs Secretary Nidhi Khare, has over the past three years taken action against misleading advertisements, unfair trade practices, and violations of consumer rights by issuing 49 notices and imposing a total penalty of Rs 77.60 lakh on 24 coaching centres, according to the statement.

The statement said the CCPA recently issued notices to a few coaching institutes flagging issues such as guaranteed selection, assurance of JEE/NEET ranks, violation of consumer rights and misleading advertisement.

Candidates can check the results from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. To log in to their student profiles at the official JEE website, candidates will need an application number and date of birth.

JEE Main NTA scores are the normalised scores across multi-session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The JEE Main 2025 marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees. NTA score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained. The NTA score of a candidate has been calculated as follows:

(100 X Number of candidates appeared in the ‘Session’ with raw score equal to less than the candidate) / Total number of candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’

The result of JEE Main 2025 of the candidates who indulge in unfair means practices will be cancelled and will not be declared. In the JEE Main 2025 January session exam, NTA did not declare the JEE Main 2025 scores of 39 candidates as those candidates were found indulging in Unfair Means practices.

Similarly, the result of those candidates who appear from the centre other than the one allotted to them or allow another candidate or person to write the examination on his behalf will also be cancelled. Any candidate who appears in a session more than once will lead to cancellation of his or her candidature. No plea will be entertained in this regard, NTA said

In the JEE Main 2025 January session, as many as 12 questions were dropped by NTA. The final answer key was released on the afternoon of February 10. For those dropped questions, four marks were awarded to all candidates who appeared for the test.

In 2025, around 2,000 seats will be available under the state quota for National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) for students belonging to the north-eastern region.

The NTA, on April 16, has addressed the concerns raised over discrepancies in the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 answer key, which included complaints about incorrect answers, wrongly recorded responses, and even blank response sheets. According to the JEE Main 2025 marking scheme, if all options are found to be correct then four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

Tie between candidates obtaining same total NTA scores will be resolved in the following order

JEE Main 2025 is being held in two rounds this year – January and April. If a candidate has appeared in both the sessions, the best of the candidate’s scores in JEE Main 2025 will be considered while preparing the final merit list and all India ranks (AIR).

Over 12.58 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main session 1 exam with 14 candidates across the country scoring a perfect 100 NTA score. Of them, only one is a female candidate. Five of the toppers were from Rajasthan, two each from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and one each from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana and Maharashtra.

The JEE Main 2025 session 1 toppers are Ayush Singhal, Rajit Gupta, Saksham Jindal, Arnav Singh and Om Prakash Behera from Rajasthan; Daksh and Harsh Jha from Delhi; Shreyas Lohiya and Sourav from Uttar Pradesh; Kushagra Gupta (Karnataka); Vishad Jain (Maharashtra); Shiven Vikas Toshniwal (Gujarat); Sai Manogna Guthikonda (Andhra Pradesh) and Bani Brata Majee (Telangana).

In the January session JEE Main 2025 exam, a total of 13,11,544 candidates registered for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) across different categories and genders. Among them, 4,43,622 were female candidates, with 1,67,790 from the General category, 45,627 from EWS, 42,704 from SC, 13,833 from ST, and 1,73,668 from OBC.

Of the total registered candidates, as many as 12,58,136 candidates appeared for Paper 1 (BE/ BTech) across different categories and genders. Among them, 4,24,810 were female candidates, with 1,59,378 from the General category, 44,762 from EWS, 40,282 from SC, 12,965 from ST, and 1,67,423 from OBC categories.

Male candidates accounted for 8,33,920, including 3,06,980 from General, 93,937 from EWS, 82,563 from SC, 26,994 from ST, and 3,22,851 from OBC.

Additionally, one candidates identified as third gender, was from OBC category.

The highest number of students appearing for the exam were from the OBC category (4,90,275), followed by General (4,66,358), EWS (1,38,699), SC (1,22,845), and ST (39,959).

NTA has responded to claims regarding discrepancies in the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 response sheets and the provisional answer key in a series of posts on the social media platform X.

In multiple tweets, the NTA said that the agency takes utmost care in keeping the examination process transparent. The tweet reads, “NTA has always followed a transparent examination process, which allows candidates to view their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys are released. The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional Answer Key with utmost seriousness.”

The exam held on April 2 was considered moderate overall. The JEE Main April 2 paper was described as “balanced but lengthy.” Physics was moderately tricky, mathematics was lengthy and moderate, and chemistry was relatively easy. Shift 2 maintained a similar trend, with chemistry rated the easiest, physics moderate, and mathematics the most challenging.

The JEE Main BTech, BE paper held on the second day of the April 2025 session on April 3 in two sessions was considered ‘moderate to difficult’ according to most candidates who appeared for the exam. Most students found the Physics section moderate in the morning shift, chemistry section was rated easy to moderate and the mathematics section was moderate to difficult, with questions well-distributed across various topics. In the afternoon shift of the April 3 exam, physics was the easiest, mathematics was moderate, and chemistry ranged from moderate to difficult

The JEE Main April 4 exam was analysed as moderate. The morning session paper was moderate in overall difficulty. Among the three sections, physics and chemistry ranged from easy to moderate, while mathematics was the most challenging. The evening shift of April 4 was moderate in overall difficulty. It was well-structured and balanced, covering all chapters uniformly. Among the three sections, Physics and Chemistry ranged from easy to moderate, while Mathematics was the most challenging due to some lengthy, calculation-intensive questions.

In the April 7 JEE Main morning shift, mathematics was the most challenging section, chemistry was the most straightforward among the three sections and the physics section in the JEE Main 2025 ranged from easy to moderate difficulty. In the evening shift, the exam was moderate. Chemistry turned out to be easy in the second shift, physics had a mix of simple and moderately tough problems, while mathematics stood out as the toughest.

The JEE Main 2025 April 8 exam was held in only one shift. Chemistry emerged as the most easy section in the JEE Main April 8 evening shift, physics presented a blend of easy and moderately complex questions, while mathematics proved to be the most demanding. 

According to PhysicsWallah, to qualify for JEE Advanced 2025, candidates will have to meet specific minimum marks based on their category: General category requires at least 86 marks, EWS needs 84 marks, OBC candidates must score a minimum of 82 marks, SC candidates need 60 marks, and PwD candidates have a threshold of just 0.0018 marks.

Candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 2025 in January and April can expect a minor increase in the JEE Main cut-off this year, suggesting an increase in number of candidates and past years’ cut-off.

According to the JEE Main 2025 dates released in the official NTA information brochure, the JEE Main 2025 session 2 result will be released by April 17.
