NTA will conduct the JEE Main Session 2 exam 2024 from April 4 to 15. The examination will be conducted in two shifts the first shift will be conducted from 9 to 12 pm and the second shift will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The advanced city intimation slip for JEE Main 2024 session 2 has been released by the NTA at the official JEE website -- jeemain.nta.ac.in

The date, shift or slot of JEE Main 2024 is allotted by the computer randomly which is required for the normalisation process. Hence
the choice of date and shift or slot cannot be selected by the candidate.

I was pretty good in mathematics and therefore in Class 9, I decided to choose the science stream. In Class 11 itself, I started preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination. The delay in releasing the JEE Main session 2 city slip is due to some technical issues in NTA. An NTA officer last night told the indianexpress.com that they will be releasing the JEE city slip today.

Candidates will have to use their login credentials like registration numbers and date of birth to download the JEE Main city slips.

The JEE Advanced 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on May 26. The JEE Advanced 2024 application window will open on April 21 and will remain open until April 30, 2024.

The registration deadline for CUET UG 2024 has been extended by NTA until March 31 (9:50 pm). The JEE Main session 2 exams will be held from April 4 to April 15. Earlier, it was scheduled to be conducted between April 1 and 15. However, the NTA has not yet announced as to when the BArch and BPlanning papers and BTech/ BE paper will be held.

The top 2.5 lakh candidates in JEE Main 2024 will be able to register for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam. The JEE Advanced 2024 official website is jeeadv.ac.in. The application for JEE Advanced will begin after the declaration of the JEE Main result, i.e., after April 25, 2024.

The PwD candidates in JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam held in January were allotted a PwD-friendly test centre and extra organisational support was given to those candidates. Candidates belonging to the PwD category will be given a compensatory 20 minutes of extra time for a one-hour exam.

In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signature shown in the JEE Main e-admit card, the candidate may immediately approach the NTA help line from 10 am to 5 pm. In such a case, the candidate would appear in
the examination with the already downloaded JEE Main admit card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later. 

(i) Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Four marks (+4)
(ii) Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
(iii) Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
(iv) If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
(v) If all options are found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
(vi) If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then full marks will be awarded to all candidates who have appeared irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the
candidate.

The JEE Main exam question paper will comprise of three subjects and will be held for MCQ type questions.

While the city intimation slip will be released now, the JEE Main admit cards will be released three days before the start of the exams. City intimation slips are released to make the candidates plan the journey to the exam city centre ahead of the exam date. The city slip will have details of the exam centre city and date of exam.

While some states provide free residential coaching programmes to all categories of students, several others have been offering engineering and medical entrance exam coaching to students belonging to certain categories of students including those only from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

i. Admit card along with the self declaration (undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
ii. A simple transparent ball point pen.
iii. Additional photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet.
iv. Personal transparent water bottle.
v. Sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) in case the candidate is diabetic.

Out of the 12,21,615 candidates registering for JEE Main paper 1 in January 2024 session, as many as 11,70,036 appeared. The JEE Main BArch paper was taken by 55,493 candidates out of the total 74,002 registered candidates.

Of the total 12,31,874 candidates who registered for paper 1 and paper 2, as many as 8,24,945 were male candidates, 4,06,920 female candidates and nine belonged to the third gender category. 

Candidates appearing for JEE Main this year in April 2024 session will have to undergo frisking and biometric attendance also after toilet breaks, according to National Testing Agency (NTA) officials.

Officials, observers, staff members and even helps serving refreshments will have to undergo the same process, they said.

“The move is aimed at ensuring there are no cases of use of unfair means or proxy attendance. We have strict mechanisms in place already but the idea is to make the exam completely foolproof to ensure there are zero incidents,” NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh said.

The JEE Main April attempt date is April 4 to April 15. NTA is yet to announce as to when the BTech and BArch and BPlanning exams will be held. Generally, the paper 2 exams -- BArch and BPlanning will be held on the first day of the JEE Main April attempt date 2024.

As the number of applicants taking JEE Main continues to increase, it becomes crucial to analyse the dynamics of JEE Advanced selection criteria. This year, as many as 12.5 lakh students participated in the session 1 exam. To put this into perspective, those at the 99 to 100 percentile alone amounts to 12,000 individuals. Consequently, projections indicate that only candidates scoring above the 91st percentile are likely to secure a qualifying position.

This year, the NTA has also released the percentile of candidates appearing in various shifts between January 27 and February 1.

The JEE Main 2024 city slip and admit cards are not same. While the JEE Main 2024 city slip will only have details of the exam center city and date of exam, the admit cards will have detailed information on the exam city centres, roll numbers, reporting time and exam day guidelines.

While the Lok Sabha Elections will commence from April 19 and conclude on June 1, the National Testing Agency is confident that there will be no change in the exam schedule of the JEE Main 2024 session 2 exams and NEET UG 2024.

The JEE Main this year is being held in two sessions. While the first session was conducted in January, the second is set to be held from April 4 to April 15. The best of the two marks will be considered for merit for those candidates appearing in both sessions.
