JEE Advanced 2024: Swaroop Rathi bagged all-India rank of 6,090 in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) in 2022. Rathi took admission in IIT Madras’s civil engineering branch and will now enter his fifth semester.
Twenty one-year-old Rathi appeared for JEE in 2021 and 2022. He was aiming for a better score in his second attempt at JEE Advanced. His rank in the first attempt was around 6,500. Had he used his JEE Advanced rank from his first attempt, he would have got admission into IIT Madras’s naval architecture or some metallurgical engineering in IIT Roorkee or at IIT Kharagpur. However, his interests in the physics and mechanics of objects drew him to choose a branch like civil engineering.
He was drawn towards science from childhood and the curiosity in its mechanism led him take a coaching programme in engineering after Class 10 so that he can learn more about the subject.
Rathi is originally from Rajasthan’s Bhilwara. He did his Class 10 and Class 12 from his hometown and then went to Kota to bolster his preparation.
Speaking to the indianexpress.com, the IIT student shares his JEE Main and JEE Advanced preparation.
