The exam was conducted on June 4 and the provisional answer key was released on June 11. Candidates were given time till June 12. Following the provisional answer key, the online declaration of the final answer key and results of JEE Advanced 2023 will be released.

Mumbai University will release the first merit list for admissions to various colleges today, June 19. As the JEE Main and Advanced exams came approaching, 17-year-old Ramesh Surya Theja, who had been preparing hard for this moment for four years, could not perform to his potential. During the mock tests, he was lagging behind many others and a small change in approach from his teachers is what, he now believes, brought him back to form. A total of 1,88,833 Indian candidates, 125 foreign candidates and 786 OCI candidates registered for the exam, out of which 1,79,626 -Indian, 108 foreign and 638 OCI candidates appeared for the exam. The exam was cleared by 43,605 Indian candidates, 13 foreign candidates and 155 OCI candidates.
A total of 1,46,111 male students registered for the exam out of which 1,39,727 appeared for it and 36,264. The number of girls who registered were 43,633 out of which, 40,645 appeared for the exam and 7,509 cleared it. No transgender candidates registered for the exam this year.

Completing his schooling at Delhi Public School in Ghaziabad, Rishi comes from a family deeply rooted in the medical profession. His father, Rajesh Kalra, works as an anaesthetist, while his mother, Deepa Kalra, serves as a paediatrician, both making significant contributions in Ghaziabad.

With a considerable increase in qualifying cut-off marks across categories; a total of 43,773 out of 1,80,372 candidates cleared the entrance test for admission to undergraduate programmes in 23-IITs across India.
The qualifying cut-off score for the Common Rank List (CRL) was recorded at 23.89 per cent in JEE-Advanced 2023, a significant jump from last year’s CRL cut-off of 15.28 per cent, which was also the lowest since 2012. Five years ago, Nayakanti Naga Bhavya Sree experienced two life-changing moments. As she was announced the female topper in JEE Advanced 2023, she reflected on her father’s decision to send her to Hyderabad to pursue her IIT dream and the influence of former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s speeches on YouTube. To this day, Kalam remains one of her biggest role models.
“Kalam sir spoke about fearlessness in the face of failure and staying composed during adversities. These ideas deeply resonated with me and continue to inspire me. I believe in giving my best and leaving the rest to destiny. A total of six students who secured 100 percentile in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 have emerged as toppers of JEE Advanced 2023. Starting from All India Rank (AIR) 1, Vavilala Chidvilas Reddy from Telangana.
AIR 2, Ramesh Surya Theja also from Telangana, AIR 3 Rishi Kalra from Uttar Pradesh and AIR 4 Raghav Goyal from Haryana followed suit and qualified JEE with flying colours in both Main and Advanced.
“I am deeply concerned about the current situation. With India’s increasing number of infrastructure and aviation projects, I worry about the availability of civil and aerospace engineers. Recently, during my travels, I have met alumni from IIT Madras who pursued careers in big four companies, such as marketing or high-frequency trading. When asked about their (engineering) background, it becomes apparent that their career choices are completely unrelated to what they have studied. It’s a waste of resources,” V Kamakoti said

Amid growing concerns over student deaths by suicide, the IIT Council in a meeting at IIT Bhubaneswar recently decided to appoint at least one mental health counsellor on every campus. The decision was taken in the over seven-hour-long meeting chaired by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during which the proposal to subsume the JEE Advanced in a common entrance for engineering colleges faced resistance from directors and chairpersons of many IITs.
While job opportunities will always have some impact on what fraction of students take up engineering as a career, the question is whether our society, schools and IITs can do something to reduce the number of students who lose interest in engineering or science education.

IIT Guwahati has released the final answer key for JEE Advanced 2023 exam at the official website — jeeadv.ac.in.
"We have 23 IITs and our seats are limited, but the number of candidates appearing for JEE Main is around 11 lakh and around 2 lakh for JEE Advanced exam, so the competition is intense, and not every student might be able to achieve their dream. I would request students to not lose their heart and try other options too. There are several other private engineering institutes that provide good courses.
"If IIT is your ultimate choice, you can always try next year, but never lose your heart, and don’t be demoralised. Look for other options and keep trying," says Prof Bishnupada Mandal, the Organizing Chairman of IIT JEE Advanced 2023.
