The Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory for Indian nationals and students in Canada amid the diplomatic row between the two countries.
The MEA has asked Indian nationals and students to register with the High Commission of India in Ottawa or the Consulates General of India in Toronto and Vancouver through their respective websites, or the MADAD portal— madad.gov.in.
People can register online either through grievant registration or registration of Indian students abroad. Students abroad can follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website— madad.gov.in
Step 2: Click on ‘registration of Indian students abroad’ option
Step 3: Enter your name, date of birth, email id and more
Step 4: Once registered, login using id and password
Step 5: Click on manage profile to add further details
Step 6: Click on manage course details to enter details of the course and institute
Once the registration process is completed, students or other grievants can register the issues they’re facing and the authorities, as the website states, will try to resolve the issue. MEA has asked all Indian nationals in Canada and those contemplating travel to exercise utmost caution.
