Delhi Election 2025 Top Candidates Educational Qualifications: The Delhi Assembly elections will be held on February 5. The results for the 70 seats will be declared on February 8. But before Delhiites cast their votes, here’s a list of top candidates and their educational qualifications along with their university ranking.

Arvind Kejriwal (AAP)

Arvind Kejriwal appeared for the IIT-JEE in 1985. He completed his BTech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. The former CM of Delhi, he joined the Indian Revenue Service as a Joint Commissioner of Income Tax in 1993. He is also a Magsaysay award winner for his work on the grassroots through his organisation Parivartan.

In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), under the overall category, IIT Kharagpur ranked 6 with a score of 74.77, while under the research and engineering categories, it ranked five.

Parvesh Verma (BJP)

According to his affidavit, Parvesh Verma’s has pursued an MBA from the Fore School of Management, while in the Digital Sansad application he has done a Bachelor of Commerce from Kirori Mal College (KMC), University of Delhi.

In the NIRF 2024, under the college’s category, KMC has ranked at 9 spot with a score of 69.86. Under the University rankings, Delhi University ranks 6.

Atishi Marlena (AAP)

Atishi completed her schooling at Springdales School in New Delhi with a bachelor’s in History from St Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, in 2001. The Chief Minister of Delhi later obtained a Master’s degree in History from Oxford University in 2003, supported by the Chevening scholarship. In 2005, she was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship at Magdalen College, Oxford.

University of Delhi’s St Stephen College rank 3 under the NIRF 2024 college category. The University of Oxford is ranked among the top universities in the world in both Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and QS University Rankings. Under the World University Rankings 2025, Oxford University ranked first with an overall score of 98.5.

Ramesh Bidhuri (BJP)

Ramesh Bidhuri pursued his early education at St Xavier’s School in Delhi before earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Delhi University’s Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. The MLA from South Delhi then pursued an LLB from Ch. Charan Singh University in Meerut.

In the NIRF 2024 college category, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College ranked under the bandwidth of 101-150. While Charan Singh University under the Universities category ranked under the bandwidth of 151-200.

Manish Sisodia (AAP)

Manish Sisodia completed his schooling in Delhi and earned a Diploma in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, as mentioned on the official website of Aam Aadmi Party. Before entering politics, he worked as a journalist, a radio jockey and later a news producer.

Vijender Gupta (BJP)

Vijender Gupta is a postgraduate in commerce from Delhi University in 1986 and has also completed bachelors in commerce from Ramjas College in 1984.

Last year in the NIRF college category, Ramjas College did not make to the list, however, in 2023, the College was ranked 67 with a score of 54.47.

Avadh Ojha (AAP)

Avadh Ojha is widely recognised as an educator in the civil services coaching sector and he is making his debut in the Delhi Assembly elections 2025 by contesting from Patparganj seat. Hailing from Gonda in Uttar Pradesh, Ojha has several degrees including BA in History, MA in Hindi literature, LLB, MPhil, and PhD in Hindi literature.

He did law from Lucknow University, according to his affidavit. After failing to clear the civil services exams in 2005, he had shifted gears to become an educator. The University of Lucknow ranked 97 under university category of the NIRF 2024.
