The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) on October 15 inaugurated the Ashok Vemulapalli Floor, Founder of Trigeo Technologies, in its Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), marking a milestone in its pursuit of global excellence in innovation, research, and technology.

The floor was made possible through the generous support of Sunitha Vemulapalli, celebrating her husband’s visionary contributions to technology and industry.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vemulapalli, Prof BS Murty, Director, IITH, Prof. Mahendrakumar Madhavan, Dean (Alumni and Corporate Relations), and Prof. Antony Franklin, Head, CSE Department.

Following the ceremony, Vemulapalli interacted with students and faculty, sharing insights from his entrepreneurial journey. As the founder of Trigeo Technologies, he has led pioneering work in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Digital Twin technologies, and engineering solutions for the petrochemical sector — all areas closely aligned with IITH’s research frontiers.
Prof. Murty said the inauguration “symbolizes a convergence of vision and purpose,” adding that the Vemulapalli family’s contribution demonstrates how leaders from industry can empower academia to accelerate innovation and global impact.
Prof. Franklin noted that the new floor will help establish advanced laboratories and collaborative spaces fostering computing research tied to real-world challenges.
Sunitha Vemulapalli said: “My husband and I are deeply grateful to IITH for giving us the opportunity to contribute to its inspiring journey. This initiative is not just about recognition—it is about nurturing innovation, supporting young minds, and continuing a legacy of technological progress that reflects his life’s work and values.”
Prof. Madhavan added that the contribution reinforces “a growing culture of giving in higher education” and aligns with IITH’s mission to build a vibrant, globally connected research ecosystem.
