The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has introduced the ‘Ignite’ programme to transform change among India’s micro-enterprises and self-help groups (SHGs). The programme aims to empower innovative start-ups pioneering technology-driven solutions for grassroots businesses by offering funding, mentorship, and essential resources.
The statement said that the programme aims to accelerate the growth of start-ups committed to uplifting underserved communities, fostering sustainable development, and strengthening economic resilience.
Applications for the Ignite programme are now open and will close on November 20. Start-ups and organisations working to empower micro-enterprises and SHGs have to apply.
Announcing the same, Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode and Chairman of IIM Kozhikode LIVE, said, “The Ignite programme is a testament to the Institute’s commitment to foster collaboration between innovative start-ups and grassroots micro-enterprises/SHGs. By providing targeted solutions in critical areas such as supply chain management, financial services, and marketing, Ignite aims to help micro-enterprises and SHGs unlock their full potential, driving positive social and economic impact.”
