This year, Hans Jain secured first place in the CMA Final while Sujal Saraf topped in the CMA Inter.
In the ICMAI June 2025 session, a total of 5,491 candidates cracked the Intermediate course, while 2,167 students earned the CMA Final certification. In the Intermediate Examination (Syllabus 2022), Group I saw 26,974 candidates appear, of which 2,864 passed, marking a pass rate of 10.62 per cent.
On the other hand, the group II had 15,333 candidates, with 4,664 passing, resulting in a 30.42 per cent success rate. Among those who attempted both groups, 9,998 candidates passed in either group, with 864 clearing at least one — an 8.64 per cent pass rate — while 1,375 candidates passed both groups, achieving a 13.75 per cent success rate.
For the Final Examination (Syllabus 2022), Group-III had 10,503 candidates, with 1,701 successfully passing, reflecting a pass percentage of 16.20 per cent.
In Group-IV of the Final Examination (Syllabus 2022), a total of 4,458 candidates appeared, out of which 1,108 successfully passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 24.85 per cent. Among those who attempted both Group-III and Group-IV, 3,493 candidates appeared, with 478 passing in either group, reflecting a pass rate of 13.68 per cent. Additionally, 651 candidates managed to clear both groups, achieving a combined pass percentage of 18.64 per cent.
According to ICMAI’s qualifying standards, candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 40 per cent in each paper and an overall aggregate of 50 per cent across all non-exempted papers to pass a group. If a candidate does not clear the group but scores 60 per cent or higher in any individual paper, they will be granted an exemption from retaking that paper in the next exam cycle. To calculate the aggregate in future attempts, the marks for the exempted paper will be treated as 50 per cent.
The CMA programme, administered by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), is held twice annually—in June and December. Notably, the CMA Foundation results for the June 2025 session were declared on July 8, with the merit list featuring top performers such as Riya Poddar from Howrah, who secured the first rank.
In the previous year’s CMA Intermediate results, the pass rate for Group I alone was 16.10 per cent, while Group II alone saw a pass rate of 28.69 per cent. Additionally, 9.89 per cent of candidates cleared either one of the groups, and 17.77per cent successfully passed both.
