The Ministry of Home Affairs has begun the online application process for the recruitment of Assistant Central Intelligence Officers (ACIO) Grade II/Executive for the year 2025 at the Intelligence Bureau. A total of 3,717 vacancies have been announced. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website at mha.gov.in.

In order to be eligible for the IB ACIO Grade II/Executive recruitment, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 27 years as on August 10, 2025.

However, age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories—five years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and three years for Other Backward Classes. Additional relaxations are available for ex-servicemen, departmental candidates, and others as per central government rules.

IB ACIO II, Executive Recruitment 2025: What is the salary offered?

Candidates selected through this recruitment will be placed in Level 7 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix. The monthly salary for the post ranges from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will also receive allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), and a special security allowance.

The selection process will be carried out in three stages. The first stage, Tier I, is an objective-type written examination. This test will cover subjects including General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, English, and General Studies.

The paper carries 100 marks and has a duration of one hour, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Tier II is a descriptive test worth 50 marks that includes an essay and a comprehension question in English.

The third and final stage is the personal interview, which will assess the candidate’s personality and suitability for intelligence-related work. The interview carries 100 marks. Final selection will be based on the combined performance in all three stages.
