DU Admissions, DU UG Merit List 2023: The Delhi University (DU) will tomorrow release the first merit list for admissions to undergraduate courses. Once released, the first seat allocation list will be available at the official DU website — du.ac.in. 

DU aspirants should remember that the first seat allocation list will not be published publicly, and candidates will have to login in their student profile to check the college and course they have been allotted in Delhi University.

While the first seat allocation list will be declared on August 1, here’s a look at what happens next:

Till when can I accept the allotted seat/course?
As per the official schedule of Delhi University, candidates will have time till August 4 to accept their allocates seat, and till 4:59 pm of August 6 to finalise their payment against the first seat allocation list.
When will DU release the list of vacant seats after round 1?
DU will display the list of vacant seats for further allocation rounds on August 7. Following that, candidates will have time from August 7 to 8 to re-order their higher preferences.
When will DU release second list?
The DU CSAS second allocation list will be made available on August 10, and candidates will have time till August 13 to accept their allotted college. They will be given time till August 15 to finalise their payment against the second list.
Will there be a third list?
Yes, DU will release a list of vacant seats on August 17, following which the third merit list will release on August 22. After that, candidates will have time till August 24 to accept the college, and till August 26 to finalsie their payment.
When will classes begin this year?
The academic session for Delhi University (all undergraduate courses) will begin on August 16, the official schedule stated.
How many students applied this year?
A total of 3,04,699 students registered for admission to Delhi University through CUET UG 2023 of which as many as 2,45,239 paid applications fee. Among them, 2,00,551 students filled their preferences. The total number of preferences from all applicants is 1,77,62,437 and the maximum number of preferences filled by applicants is 1,481.
Which was the most preferred course this year?
BCom has emerged as one of the most preferred courses across the university, as a total of 72,769 students applied for the programme. This is closely followed by BCom (Hons) and BA (Hons) English with 67,686 and 62,680 registrations, respectively.

Is there a lot of competition for Hindu College?
This time, Kirori Mal College has emerged as the most popular choice in Delhi University as 1,61,533 students have selected this North Campus college. This is followed by Hindu College with 1,58,548 students choosing the institute and Hansraj College is the third most preferred college (1,57,162 registrations).

What documents are needed for DU Admissions?
These are the important documents a candidate needs to apply for DU:

  • CUET UG score card

  • Class 10 marksheet

  • Class 12 marksheet

  • Government-issued ID card such as Aadhar, PAN, Drivers license, Voter ID

  • Category/caste certificate, if needed.
