The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the CUET UG final answer key likely today. The official website exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG will make the answer key link active.

A merit list will be prepared by participating Universities/ organisations. Universities will decide about their individual counselling on the basis of the scorecard of CUET UG 2024 provided by NTA. 

There are multiple universities including central, state and private in Odisha that admit candidates to their UG programmes through the CUET UG. Universities including Central University of Odisha, Birla Global University and Centurion University use CUET scores for UG admission.

Over 15 lakh candidates appeared for CUET UG 2024 exam this year. While the CUET UG 2024 was held in hybrid mode (CBT and pen and paper) mode on May 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, and 24 in 379 cities including 26 cities outside India for around 13.48 lakh candidates, about 1.58 lakh candidates appeared for seven test papers on May 29.

Delhi University will enroll single-child girl students in every course from this year as part of supernumerary seats.

The NTA conducted CUET UG 2024 examination in a single shift for each language, subject and general test so that the need for normalization does not exist. However, for subject conducted in multi-shifts, then normalization will be done. The performance of every candidate will be evaluated using the equi-percentile method wherein normalized marks of each candidate will be calculated using the percentiles of each group of students in a given shift across multiple days for the same subject. 

Amid uncertainty over the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) results, Jamia Millia Islamia held a meeting with the deans of the varsity and decided that they will convene their undergraduate session after the results are announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The varsity has partially adopted the CUET system, using the scores for admission to 15 undergraduate courses and five master’s programmes.

NTA will generate and host the score card on its website. It will not prepare the merit list since the criteria for preparing the same may vary with each participating institution. Each participating institution will prepare the merit list as per its own criteria and admit the candidates based on the NTA score.

If candidates score the same scores, those situations will be addressed by each participating institution as per their rules and regulations.

There is no provision for rechecking or re-evaluation in CUET UG 2024.

The CUET UG 2024 final answer key will be out before the announcement of the CUET result. The CUET result will be declared after considering the grievances raised against the answer key.

Yes, candidates who appeared in the July 19 CUET UG exam can raise grievances against the answer key.

NTA today released the CUET UG 2024 answer key for the July 19 exam. Candidates who took the exam can raise objections against the answer key at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.

The NTA has not yet announced the CUET UG 2024 result date. The result will likely be announced this week.

As per the CUET UG 2023 information bulletin, 'If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks ( 5) marks.'

“It is being informed to all the concerned candidates and stakeholders that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Chemistry -306, Biology – 304, English – 101, and General Test – 501) which were earlier scheduled on 15 May 2024 stand postponed for the candidates appearing in Centres across Delhi only. The examination will now be held on 29 of May 2024. The revised admit Cards will be issued for candidates appearing in center across Delhi,” the NTA said in an official notice.

“CUET UG is held at a large scale and we had selected several exam centres and invigilators are deployed for this process. However, we were facing issues in getting appropriate amount of invigilators in Delhi exam centres for the May 15 exam due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. So, NTA has decided to conduct the May 15 exam after elections, i.e. May 29,” an NTA official told indianexpress.com.

The CUET UG exam is held on different days and in different shifts, across several exam centres in India and abroad. Due to this, there are different sets of question papers for every subject, which makes it difficult for the agency to maintain the same level of difficulty for all exams.

“In addition to the above difficulty, in subjects such as sports or fine arts, some weightage (e.g. 25%) is given to the skill component by some universities. However, adding raw marks of the skill component and the remaining weightage (75%) of percentile cannot be done to prepare the rank list because it would be like adding oranges to apples,” UGC Chief explained in indianexpress.com.

Thus, the NTA uses the normalisation method. This normalisation formula ensures that candidates are neither benefitted nor disadvantaged due to any such factor.

Sharing some tips on how to shortlist the best college for one’s career, Shukla said, “It depends on the course one is opting for. If he or she wants a career in management they should go for B Com or BBA, for which colleges with good reputations and placement opportunities should be shortlisted. On the other hand, if one wants to appear for government exams like UPSC or something else or maybe pursue a teaching career, then Lady Shri Ram College, Hindu College etc can be considered.”

Shukla said it was also important for students to properly analyse colleges on the basis of their NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) rankings, infrastructure, faculties, environment and placement opportunities, among other factors.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 27 denied allegations of carelessly handling students’ answer sheets for the Central University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2024.

“These are empty boxes kept outside the hall at NTA and do not have any sensitive material inside them. Never did we keep these boxes in open, as being reported by the media. Also, we have sufficient number of security personnel deployed at the place where boxes are kept,” the agency on Thursday tweeted on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter).

This clarification from NTA comes after several social media posts claimed that CUET UG 2024 answer sheets were lying unattended and unsealed in the open at the NTA office. However, the same has now been denied by the Agency.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had been in the news for the past month due to the ongoing National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 controversy. Three variables are required to calculate normalised score for CUET UG candidates:

Raw score of the candidate (A)
Total number of candidates with a score equal to or less than their raw score (B)
Total number of candidates in that particular session (C)

The mathematical formula applied is B divided by C multiplied by 100.

For example, take the case of a student who appears in a session with 41,326 other candidates. Say, they obtain 121 marks, scoring more than 37,244 other candidates of their session. Their normalised percentile score will be 37,244/41,326X100, which comes to 90.1224411. Percentile scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places.
