Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru will soon commence registrations for the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2025 for admission to MTech programmes and PSU recruitment, based on the scores candidates have obtained in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. After commencement, eligible candidates can register on the official portal at gate.iisc.ac.in/coap2025.
The GATE 2025 result was declared by IIT Roorkee on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Candidates are required to log into the GOAPs portal to check their result. Scorecards for qualified candidates will be made available on March 31, 3035.
In order to be eligible for COAP 2025, candidates must have a valid GATE score from 2025, 2024, or 2023. Only those who have qualified in one of these years and wish to apply for M.Tech. admissions or PSU job offers through participating institutes can register on the COAP 2025 portal. Upon successful registration, candidates will gain access to institute-specific offers linked to their COAP registration number.
Registering on COAP 2025 does not imply automatic admission. For M.Tech. programs or PSU job applications, candidates must apply separately to the respective institute or PSU.
In every offer round, candidates must log in to the COAP 2025 portal to view and respond to available offers. If a candidate fails to access the portal or does not make a decision within a given round, all offers from that round — including any previously retained offers — will be automatically marked as “Rejected.”
Additionally, if a candidate had previously selected the “Retain and Wait” option but does not log in or fails to submit a decision in a later round, all offers from that round (including the retained offer) will be considered rejected as well.
The COAP 2025 portal has released a detailed schedule outlining the key dates for all 10 rounds of offers, including the time frame within which candidates must respond and the options available at each stage.

If a candidate selects the “Retain & Wait” option for a specific institute and program twice in previous rounds, they cannot choose it a third time for the same offer. During Rounds 1 to 4, candidates have three choices: “Accept & Freeze”, “Retain & Wait”, or “Reject.”
However, “Retain & Wait” can only be used twice for the same offer, meaning if a candidate has already selected it twice, they must either accept the offer or reject it in the next round. Additionally, candidates must actively select “Retain & Wait” in every eligible round; otherwise, their offer will be automatically rejected if no action is taken. Round 5 is a Decisive Round, meaning candidates can only choose between “Accept & Freeze” or “Reject.” No “Retain & Wait” option is available at this stage.
For IITs that continue beyond Round 9, the later rounds (Rounds 6 to 10) function as independent Decisive Rounds, where candidates only have the options to “Accept & Freeze” or “Reject.” These rounds do not allow “Retain & Wait,” and each must be treated separately. Candidates should refer to the official flowchart for further clarification on the process and deadlines.
