Central Board of Secondary Education has denied any plans for the re-examination of Class 12 Mathematics paper. Some fake messages and circular went viral on social media claiming that the Board will conduct Maths examination on May 1.

The fake circular elaborates that since the experts found the “paper is set on a difficulty level not attainable by the average student, therefore CBSE will be holding the Maths paper again.”

The circular also mentioned ‘Divasa Murkha’ means fools day, below the name of Rama Sharma, PRO, CBSE.

A student said, “I was busy preparing for the various entrance exams when I saw this circular on the Facebook. People should cross-check before circulating such messages.”

CBSE has already announced remedial measures when parents and students raised concern over “tough” Maths paper. The measures include some relaxation at the evaluation stage. “The subject experts who meet after every exam have to define a marking scheme. Since it is felt that some sets were lengthy, the distribution of marks will consider that. So even if some students have missed certain steps, marks will not be deducted,” said a senior official in the CBSE examination wing.
