
CBSE Board Class 10 Result Updates: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today (May 12) announced the Class 10 board exams results. Students who appeared for the board exams can check the results at the official website of the board — cbse.gov.in, results.nic.in, results.digilocker.gov.in, umang.gov.in.
This year, the pass percentage of Class 10 is 93.12 per cent. Trivandrum has come up as the best performing region at 99.91 per cent, followed by Bengaluru at 99.18 per cent, Chennai at 99.14 per cent, Ajmer at 97.27 per cent and Pune at 96.92 per cent.
Meanwhile, CBSE also released Class 12 result today, in which the overall pass percentage dipped to 87.33 per cent. Like last year, this year too, the Trivandrum has emerged as the best district with 99.91 per cent, followed by Bengaluru at 98.64 per cent and Chennai at 97.40 per cent. Delhi West is in fourth position with 93.24 per cent.
In 2023, a total of 21,84,117 students registered for the exam out of which 21,65,805 students appeared for the exam. The total number of students who cleared the exam were 20,16,779 and the pass percentage was 93.12 per cent. There has been a decline of 1.28 per cent from the previous year.
Pass percentage 2019 -- 91.10 per cent

Pass percentage 2021 -- 99.04 per cent
Pass percentage 2022 -- 94.40 per cent

The board has also announced it will not publish the merit list to avoid "unhealthy competition". CBSE today, through a statement, said they have decided to scrap awarding first, second and third divisions based on students' scores.
CBSE mark sheets and passing certificates will be uploaded on the DigiLocker. Applicants who appeared for the exam can download their results online by simply activating their CBSE Result DigiLocker Accounts. Students have to use their security pins and activate their accounts so that they can download digital copies of their marks sheets and certificates.

A total of 3,63,836 students registered from the Delhi region out of which 3,58,968 appeared for the exam. The total number of students who cleared the exam were 3,20,349 students and the pass percentage stood at 89.24 per cent.
76 subjects were offered in Class 10. The exams were conducted at 7241 centres, there were 18,15,561 invigilators and 3578 evaluation centres.
Students who didn't score as much marks as they expected can get their answer sheet re-verified. The re-verification facility will begin from May 16.
"As per earlier decision of the Board, to avoid unhealthy competition among the students, no merit list is declared by the CBSE. Also, Board is not awarding first, second and third divisions to its students. However, the board will issue the merit certificate to 0.1% of students, who have scored highest marks in the subjects," read the official notification.
The Minister of Education encouraged students who did not perform as per expectation and told them to come back stronger from this.
Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the students who have cleared the Class 10 exams.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to Class 10 students. He wished that they have bright academic careers and pursue passions beyond the classroom.
DigiLocker has tweeted that marksheets are now available at the digilocker app. Students can download their marksheets from the app.

A total of 1,34,774 students will be appearing for supplementary exams which will be held in July. 6.22 per cent of the total students will appear for supplementary exams.
CBSE will allow Class 10 students to improve performance in two subjects in supplementary exam. It has been decided that compartment exams will henceforth be called supplementary exams as per recommendations made in NEP 2020. The board has also decided to get away with awarding first, second and third division based on the scores of students
CM of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu congratulated students who cleared the Class 10 and 12 exams and told students who did not perform as per expectations to not be worried.
A total of 7286 students registered under CWSN out of which 7154 appeared for the exams and 6627 cleared the exam. The pass percentage stood at 92.63 per cent. A total of 278 CWSN candidates secured marks above 90 per cent and 58 secured marks above 95 per cent
A total of 1,95,799 candidates got over 90 per cent marks, making it a total 9.04 per cent of the total candidates. And, 44,297 candidates got over 95 per cent making up for 2.05 per cent of the total candidates
The Delhi Police also congratulated the students who cleared the exams and encouraged those who couldn't clear the exams.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the students who cleared the Class 12 exam and encouraged those who couldn't clear it. He asked them not to be disheartened and said exams doesn't define them.

In 2022, the overall pass percentage was 94.40 per cent, which was a decline from 2021's pass percentage of 99.04 per cent. The overall pass percentage in 2020 was 91.46 per cent and 91.10 per cent in 2019.
Thiruvananthapuram was best performing district registering a pass percentage of 99.91 per cent, while Guwahati came 16th with 76.90 per cent passing percentage.
The total pass percentage (full subjects) for girls stood at 94.25 per cent, while boys secured 92.27 per cent and transgenders secured 90 per cent. This time, girls outperformed boys by 1.28 per cent.

A total of 25,391 students appeared from foreign schools, out of which 25,186 appeared for the exam and 24,667 cleared the exams. The pass percentage for students appearing from foreign schools stood at 97.94 per cent.
Next year, the Class 10 board exams will begin from February 15, 2024. And the supplementary exams for this year to be conducted in July
This year, 195799 (9.04%) students scored 90 per cent and above, and 44,297 (2.05%) students secured 95 per cent and above.

JNVs secured a pass percentage of 99.14 per cent followed by KV with 98 per cent. Independent schools came third with 95.27 per cent, CTSA came fourth with 93.86 per cent pass percentage followed by government aided at 81.57 per cent and government schools at 80.38 per cent. This year, 2184117 students registered for the Class 10 exams, out of which 2165805 students appeared and 2016779 passed the exams, earning an overall pass percentage of 93.12 per cent.

How to check CBSE class 10th result 2023 through websites? Follow these steps
Step 1: Visit the official website – cbseresults.nic.in.
Step 2: On the homepage lick on the class 10 result link.
Step 3: Log-in using credentials such as registration number and date of birth
Step 4: Result will be displayed on the screen.
Step 5: Download and save the result for future use.

Students registered: 18 lakh
Pass percentage - 91.10 per cent
Boys pass percentage - 90.14 per cent
Girls pass percentage - 92.45 per cent
In 2022, nearly 20 lakh students appeared for Clas 10 exams. The overall pass percentage was 94.40 per cent. Boys secured overall pass percentage of 93.80 per cent and girls scored 95.21 per cent.
Meanwhile, CBSE also declared Class 12 result today. In the Class 12 result, the overall pass percentage for 2023 is 87.33 per cent, which is a dip from 2022 but the performance has improved in comparison to the pre-pandemic years (83.40 per cent in 2019). Like last year, this year too, the Trivandrum has emerged as the best district with 99.91 per cent, followed by Bengaluru at 98.64 per cent and Chennai at 97.40 per cent. Delhi West is in fourth position with 93.24 per cent.
Once released, students can check their score at the official websites – cbse.gov.in, results.nic.in, results.digilocker.gov.in, umang.gov.in by entering their name and roll number.
