IIM-Kozhikode to release CAT answer key by November 30

Clearing reports, Dey informed that it will not be released tomorrow, but is expected by November 30. After the release of the answer key, candidates will be given time to study the same and raise objections, if any. These will be studied and based on it, a final answer key will be released.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode will release the preliminary answer key for the Common Admission Test (CAT) between November 28 to November 30, as informed by the CAT in-charge Shubhashish Dey. Earlier, there were reports that the answer key would be released by November 27. However, Dey informed that it is expected by November 30.

The CAT was conducted on November 24, 2019. Over 2.44 lakh candidates registered to appear for the exam conducted at 376 test centres spread across 156 cities. Those who clear the exam will be eligible to take admission in B-schools including IIMs, Delhi University’s Faculty of Management (FMS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU’s) MBA courses among others.

After the release of the answer key, candidates will be given time to study the same and raise objections, if any. The objections will be studied and based on it, a final answer key will be released, on which the result will be based. The CAT results are likely be declared by the second week of January 2020 and CAT 2019 score will be valid till December 31, 2020, as per the official notification.

The overall applications have witnessed a rise of nearly 3,000 from last year as a total of 2,44,169 candidates applied this year against 2.41 lakh last year. The registration of women candidates in the CAT 2019 has gone up to a six-year high with as many as 85,810 female candidates applying for the test. Despite the rise, females still count for only 35.14 per cent of the total applicants, at 2.44 lakh.
