BSEB Bihar Board 12th Result 2025: 86.50% students pass; updates on inter toppers, scrutiny dates

Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar and Anand Singh, BSEB Chairman, announced the result today afternoon at the Bihar Board office in Patna.

BSEB students who were unable to pass the Intermediate examination will have another opportunity to clear Class 12 through the compartment examination. The exam schedule will be announced soon and the result will be out by May. This allows them to improve their performance and secure their qualification without having to wait an entire year for the next annual exam.

This year, the result of 12,80,211 candidates appearing in the Intermediate Annual Examination, 2025 has been published within 27 days from the date of evaluation. It is known that the Intermediate Annual Examination, 2025 ended on 15 February 2025 and the evaluation of answer sheets started on February 27 and after checking more than 68 lakh copies and more than 68 lakh OMR sheets of 12,80,211 candidates, the result of the BSEB inter annual exam was declared today within 27 days. It is a record in the whole country for the seventh consecutive year, BSEB says in the result statement.

The Bihar Board 12th Result 2025 analysis reveals detailed insights into the performance across different streams. In the Science stream, out of 6,33,896 registered students, 5,68,330 successfully passed, achieving a pass percentage of 89.66%. Among them, 3,89,262 were boys and 2,44,634 were girls. In the Arts stream, 6,11,365 students registered, and 5,05,884 cleared the exams, with a pass percentage of 82.75%. This included 2,30,096 boys and 3,81,269 girls. The Commerce stream saw 34,821 registrations, out of which 32,999 students passed, recording the highest pass percentage at 94.77%. Among them, 22,963 were boys and 11,858 were girls. These figures highlight the overall success rates and gender distribution in each stream.

The Bihar Board 12th Result 2025 analysis shows a significant number of students passing across different divisions. A total of 5,08,540 students secured a first-division, demonstrating excellent academic performance. Meanwhile, 5,07,002 students passed with a second-division, reflecting a strong overall result. Additionally, 91,788 students managed to clear the exams in the third-division.

This year, the online examination form for the BSEB intermediate special examination and inter compartmental examination can be filled from April 1 to 8. The committee has set a target to release the result of Intermediate Special Examination, 2025 and Intermediate Compartmental Examination, 2025 by May 31 so that the students appearing in this examination do not waste one year and they can take admission in educational institutions to pursue higher education in this session. With the announcement of the results, BSEB has also provided details regarding the re-evaluation and supplementary examination process. Students who are not satisfied with their marks in any subject can apply for a scrutiny of their answer sheets between April 1 and April 8, 2025. the application process for the Intermediate special examination 2025 and the Intermediate compartmental examination 2025 will also be open from April 1 to April 8, 2025. The Bihar Board will declare the results of these exams by May 31, 2025. More details regarding the scrutiny process and supplementary exams will be provided through an official notification later.

The overall pass percentage this year is 86.56 per cent. Last year, it was 87.21% and 83.73% in 2023. The pass percentage for the Commerce stream this year is 94.77 per cent, for the science and arts streams, the pass percentages are 89.50 per cent and 82.75 per cent respectively.

The pass percentages in science, arts, commerce and vocational in 2024 were 87.80 per cent, 86.15 per cent, 94.88 per cent and 85.38 per cent, respectively.

In the BSEB inter 2025 arts stream, 6,11,365 students appeared including 2,30,096 boys and 3,81,269 girls. Among them, 1,56,937 students secured the first division, while 1,66,300 students achieved the second division. A total of 90,647 students were placed in the third division. In total, 5,05,884 students passed, with a pass percentage of 82.75%.

In the Commerce stream, 63,821 students appeared for the BSEB inter 2025 exams, including 22,963 boys and 11,858 girls. Among them, 22,379 students secured the first division, while 11,429 students achieved the second division. A total of 1,429 students passed in the third division. Overall, 60,642 students passed in this stream, with a pass percentage of 94.77 per cent.

A total of 6,33,896 students appeared for the Intermediate Annual Examination 2025 in the Science stream. Of them, 3,89,262 students were boys and 2,44,634 were girls.

Among them, 3,29,163 students secured first division, 23,457 students achieved the second division and a total of 7,710 students passed in the third division.

Overall, 5,88,330 students passed the exam in this stream, with a pass percentage of 89.66 per cent.

For students who do not pass the exam, the BSEB Class 12 Compartment Exam 2025 will provide a second chance. The board will announce the dates for these exams soon. Students who fail in one or more subjects can reappear for the specific paper to secure their qualifying certificate for Class 12.

This year also, Bihar Board printed separate copies and separate OMR sheets (with barcode and lithocode) for each subject with the name of each student along with their photo. Thus, this year also, pre-printed copies (with barcode and lithocode) were made with the name of all the students along with their photo and this experiment was successfully implemented in Bihar Board.

Students not satisfied with the marks obtained in any one subject or any subject from the result released today, can apply online for scrutiny of their answer sheet of that subject from April 1 to 8. Detailed information in this regard will be announced later.
