After the NSUI brought to light the fake marksheet of Delhi University Students' Union president Ankiv Baisoya, the ABVP was forced to suspend him from the organisation and ask him to step down from his post. Launching a counter-attack, the ABVP has now demanded that the DU Proctor carry out a speedy investigation into the admissions of two NSUI office-bearers, including former DUSU president Rocky Tuseed, using allegedly fake documents. On Saturday, ABVP state secretary Bharat Khatana wrote to the proctor over the admission of Tuseed, who was the DUSU president last year, and NSUI national secretary Akshay Kumar — both students of DU Buddhist Studies Department, in which Baisoya was enrolled before his admission was cancelled. He alleged that Tuseed had altered his name while taking admission in the Department and also submitted a false affidavit with his nomination form during the DUSU elections last year, and that Kumar had submitted a fake degree to gain admission into the department’s PhD programme. AICC in-charge of NSUI Ruchi Gupta, meanwhile, said the “attempt to draw equivalence is completely misconceived”. DU Proctor Neeta Sehgal did not respond to queries by The Indian Express.
