Delhi Confidential: Special Gesture

Amid hectic travelling to poll-bound Telangana, where Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has been given charge of some Assembly constituencies by the BJP, the leader has taken out time to make the festival season special for the employees working for him. Chandrasekhar returned to his Delhi office to personally distribute gifts to the staff, especially those working behind the scenes such as safai karamcharis, CISF guards, staff who serve coffee/tea to him and guests, and the bell boys who attend to his call. The minister had sent Dussehra gifts to all drivers and security officers who were deputed by the protocol office of the state governments during his recent official visits.

New Post

The Law Ministry has created a new secretary-level post for handling litigation of the central agencies section. It is now headed by former legislative department secretary Reeta Vasishta. The Central agencies division earlier had a joint secretary who reported to the secretary, legal affairs. However, since Vasishta was already a secretary, she now directly reports to the Law Minister. Justice Secretary S G K Rahate has been given the additional charge of the legislative department.
