Although he has been “forgiven” by BSP president Mayawati and reinducted into the party, former Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Siddharth will have to wait to get a position in the party. BSP sources said Mayawati, in a meeting with organisation functionaries on Sunday, explained about her decision to revoke the expulsion of Siddharth, the father-in-law of her nephew and party’s national convener Akash Anand, but said that he was not being given any position in the party as of now. Before his expulsion in February this year on charges of anti-party activities, Siddharth was in-charge of several states. Siddharth posted an apology on social media on Saturday, requesting “Behanji with folded hands to forgive” him for his mistakes. A couple of hours later, Mayawati responded to his request on X and reinducted him into the party.

Run For A Cause

AN impromptu push-up challenge involving fashion and fitness icon Milind Soman, BJP MP and BJYM chief Tejasvi Surya and party workers remained the highlight of the launch of ‘NaMo Yuva Run’, being organised by BJYM to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17. Conceptualised by Surya, with Soman as its ambassador, the run is themed on ‘Nasha-Mukt Bharat (addiction-free India)’, and will be held at 75 locations across the country on September 21. While no clear winners were declared at Sunday’s event, the total push-up count ended at 31 amid chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
