Votes & Musical Notes

The Samajwadi Party (SP) is taking a musical route to build on ally Congress’s “vote chori” allegations. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav Wednesday released a song titled “vote chorwa kul chunav jeetai vote ke chori kai ke ho (vote thief wins all the elections by stealing votes)”. SP Lok Sabha member from Robertsganj, Chhotelal Singh Kharwar, voiced the song and appeared in its video as well. Kharwar was a Bhojpuri singer before he entered politics. The party has decided to play the number at all SP events.

Lay Of The Land

A day after arriving in India, Fiji PM Sitiveni Rabuka made a planned visit to the Aadhaar centre near Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in New Delhi. He then suddenly requested to be taken to a vacant piece of land near the South Korean Embassy, leaving security agencies and police in a fix as this was not on the itinerary. Arrangements were swiftly made and Rabuka spent around two minutes at the vacant plot before returning to his hotel, ITC Maurya. It is unclear why the Fiji PM went there, but the buzz among security officials was that he may have wanted to check the land for a new mission for his country.
