TMC leaders and workers have started reaching the national capital to take part in the protest against the Centre over the ‘pending’ NREGS and PMAY-G grants. However, Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh, under whose ministry these two schemes come, will be in Begusarai on Monday. In April, too, when a TMC delegation led by Abhishek Banerjee had reached Krishi Bhawan, Singh was not present. In Singh’s absence, there was some commotion outside the minister’s office when the protesting MPs threatened to sit on a dharna.

Paeans To PM

Songs played at political rallies add colour to the occasion. BJP organisers across poll-bound states are taking songs addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi very seriously. The song played in Bhopal recently was different from the one played in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur. However, both were addressed to the PM. In Bilaspur, before Modi arrived on stage, a state BJP functionary was heard handing out instructions about two songs to be played, in a particular order, when the PM arrived. The same was accomplished when Modi came.

With the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon that created a fervour of national pride in the country, an RSS-linked organisation will on Monday honour ISRO and 17 other organisations for their contribution to the nation. MoS PMO and Science and Technology Jitendra Singh and senior RSS leader Suresh Bhaiyaji Joshi are expected to present the awards.

He praised Israel's military efforts against Hamas and other threats, and called for the UN Security Council's involvement.
