Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state Cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar shared some light moments when the former visited his NDA ally at a private hospital in Lucknow on Wednesday. Sources said Adityanath told Rajbhar that a “lion can’t be on the bed for too long” and that he needs to get better soon “to get back on the battlefield”. The Chief Minister also posed for photos with Rajbhar’s grandchildren and is learnt to have told them that he hopes they “grow up fast” and take over the legacy of their grandfather. Rajbhar, the president of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, was hospitalised on Sunday after he suffered a brain stroke. His condition is stable now, said sources.

With the final electoral roll after special intensive revision in Bihar scheduled to be published on September 30, all eyes are on the Election Commission’s next step in the poll-bound state. Days before announcing the election schedule, the three-member commission usually visits the state to take stock of the preparations. It is learnt that the poll panel is likely to visit Bihar after September 30. In 2020, the Commission announced the Bihar poll schedule on September 25 and polling was held in three phases from October 28 to November 7.

Before the launch of the fifth annual Special Campaign for cleanliness of government buildings on October 2, Union ministries have been training staff, identifying areas that need extra cleaning and planning for disposal of scrap. Following the guidelines issued for the campaign, they have also started sharing the developments on social media. So on Thursday, when the Law Ministry got pest control carried out at its offices in Shastri Bhawan, the development was documented through an official press release, with photos, and a post on X, as per the guidelines.
