Amid buzz over Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan joining the NDA government at the Centre, senior BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai met him at the LJP office in Patna on Sunday. Chirag later tweeted photographs of his meeting with Rai. He held a meeting with his party office-bearers to discuss the contours of the proposed alliance with the BJP. The LJP (Ram Vilas) office-bearers unanimously authorised Chirag to take any decision regarding the alliance.

Rain Caution

With the Capital getting the highest rainfall in 40 years over the weekend, its courts too seem impacted. Some courtrooms which had leaking roofs have been shifted out. Delhi High Court Chief Justice Satish Sharma has also issued directions to his colleagues to not pass adverse orders if lawyers cannot manage to appear in their cases.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) announced its first list of 14 candidates for the Bihar assembly polls, with its state unit chief Raju Tiwary and leader Hulas Pandey among the nominees. As per the seat-sharing arrangement, LJP (RV) will contest 29 seats, while BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each. The remaining 15 candidates will be announced soon.
